You can get away with the C430 for R7k.

If you have/get a HDMI AV receiver amplifier, then it shouldn't be a problem since only 1 HDMI port will be in use. All devices connect to the receiver, and the receiver sends visuals to the TV over 1 HDMI cable.

This is good but I already have a blue ray home theater system which needs 1 HDMI. Got the PVR, 1 HDMI for that. Planning to get the new Xbox360 in the future. I figure I rather pay the extra grand for the C450 than replace my blue-ray home theater for an HDMI AV reciever for around +/- R4000?

And is the HDMI AV receiver that 'thing' that comes with many big speakers?
I wouldn't have space for them

Most people work towards a HDMI receiver in the future. Much better features and sound quality (ability to attach decent/audiophile speakers) compared to the all-in-ones which are often not good sound quality wise.

So if your needs are entirely satisfied then your Blu-ray HT jobbie will be fine.

I got the 50C450 because of the HDMI ports and the anti reflective glare, but now that I have a AV receiver I guess I could have done with the 430.

I still don't see what makes the C450 better than the C430 (except the extra HDMI) since they are all HD ready. C550 on the other hand is full HD.
