It was quite bad last night, but seems okay this morning.

Mind you, there are also hardly any traffic lights working in Fourways, so this might be a result of all the rain. :D

Seriously though, the Vodacom performance on the Broadacres tower has never been good, while the CellC seldom disappoints (just checked, 48ms and 7mbps download). So for both to be under-performing at the same time points to something on the tower or the back-haul link, don't you think?

:mad:Good Service?? E-mailed service desk got a reply "Will answer you within 48 hrs". After 3 working days still no reply and did trow in another request, again we will contact you but they don't. They have a debit order on my bank account which I did NOT submit, I'm an happy Vodacom custumer on Prepaid !

Try to PM the Cell C rep on the forum, they are always very helpful.

CellC - bad service & bad connection - part 2

So after my thread was closed by some knob... here are the results:

I was contacted by 2 network technicians. First one was looking at the stats of the tower and said that everything looked fine and there were no changes. Second tech was dispatched to my house to test the signal.

The second tech did find something wrong with the tower (his explanation was a bit mystifying) but he did reassure me that the problem was fixed and that they measured a download speed of 6mbps at my house.

I haven't been home yet but I will let you all know what I find when I get home on Sunday.

The response of the tech team now that a ticket was logged has been pretty awesome, but CellC's call center is horrible.

Do not get me started I have used Cell c in my location for the last 6 months and suddenly 3 weeks ago speeds so low that I can not even get latency tested some time. Logged a call at Cell C and technician tells me it is due to increase in users that this is happening and that I am not really covered in my area, but if you go on there map I am covered. So i am stuffed right. Last night get at home and speeds are now better all of a sudden so I can even play online. This morning do a speed test 4mbits/s download and he said due to increase usage and forget that I used it for 6 months prior but I will still follow through on my logged complained if only to hear what the technicians explanation is with increase in speed now, probably a hugh percentage of users stopped using there internet I wonder

Since December 1st no reception on my speedstick , you have to connect reconnect over and over and now and again you get lucky with uninterupted service for a few minutes, their call centre is useless. All was good for ten months now suddenly this , its been 2 weeks and NO joy from anybody at technical department or shops ,I feel robbed !

My phone (galaxy s2) is fine but if I leave it for a minute or two I only see upload connectivity, no download. I have to disconnect then reconnect all the time. Please cell c fix this issue.

I wrote a complaint on Hello Peter about 5 days ago that my 3g was not working ans had logged a fault on the cellc website. Since then cellc tried to phone me just once during office hours so I could not answer. I then logged another complaint on the website with no reply. I also sent an email to the NCCSA. I eventually gave cellc a call from my land line and the call took 20min and still the problem is not resolved. So I wasted a cellphone call for 20min because cellc was too pathetic to respond to my email complaint. The problem is still not resolved, I think cellc is absolutely pathetic and will never ever use them again. Its been over 10days that it hasn't worked

Well I bought the 24gig at the wonderful (/sarcasm) price of R2k from a cell c shop - my own fault for not shopping around - now sitting without data for the past 2 weeks - i have about 3 reference numbers - everytime I call to query, I am told to wait 24-48 hours for my data to be loaded - it has now been 336 hours since i reported the issue for the first time - I am still told to wait - as well as being informed about the new policy where data is supposed to roll-over on the day that you first logged on.

So yeah, I have lost my patience - loaded my own data - no guarantee that that data will be given back to me .... after being very happy with cell c - the first time I have been forced to deal with their contact centre, has left a very sour taste in my mouth.

I'm still having the same problem... I wonder if there's anyone still looking at this thread.

Same here unfortunately.

If I force my modem to use EDGE then I get a stable connection but it's of course very slow and has terrible pings. If I set my modem to fastest preferred then it will pick HSPA+ which is horribly broken at the moment in my area.

Realy bad today the disconnections every 7 minutes
and it is not just one tower i have used 3 different locations in durban
this is now out of hand
Time for CellC to use their QOS software and fix the problem
surely they can see what is happening in their control room

I'm also in the Honeydew area and my Cell C speedstick was fine for like 3 months, until sometime early in January. The one day it was fine and the next day it was really awful and have been getting worse since then. I can't believe that it is congestion if it almost happens overnight.

Would really like to hear what they have to say.

Can't browse any sites in Cape Town CBD, get a connection but after that all sites just time out. Confirmed I still have data on the account.

HI

No once the first data package is depleted, so will that window period associated to that voucher.
So if you load 3 GB for 365 days you will get 365 day windows.

Altech Autopage is not registering my Sim that came with 3G dongle (3 GB for 365 days). Its been 4months already:(

Go onto hellopeter. Demand a refund.
Wait for refund. Repost after 5 days if no refund. Get refund. Go to a Cell C store directly.
Never initiate self-torture again with Autopage.
