What is it with the remaining spend limit?

I have no idea because data is unlimited so the only thing that will eat into the remaining spend limit is if you make calls from the simcard. Very strange because it's a data sim but I guess if you really wanted to you could.

I think you can always call 180 from the sim or 081180 from any network and reduce that spend limit. I think that is a default spend limit they activated for all these data simcards.

Mine is R500 btw I'm assuming everyone else also has a R500 spend limit?

So another day later. Still waiting on the Rica activation
Called them for probably the 10th time since the initial order. All calls 1hr+ due to waiting.. Hopefully will win today

Just visit http://onnet.8ta.com using the internet connection from that simcard then it will auto login.
 
Thanks. The wait for Rica continues. Called them at 11. Said will do manual activation and that within 4 hours. 5 hours later still nothing
What a horrid experience.
Phone them this morning and someone insists its activated. Switches me to another person who says its not but can't do anything about it who then transfers me to another person who said to wait till the afternoon.

I can imagine. Like you winning a brand new car but they don't give you the keys.... Something went wrong with your account because my sim came pre activated. popped it in and it was working out of the box.
 
So bit the bullet and called 10213 - application processed over the phone. Now to wait for the rest....

Can't the sim be Rica'd at a Telkom shop or Pick n pay or checkers?

No. They should have told you so when they went through all the details with you. The rep I dealt with said that I must not try any other RICA process or it will result in a much longer delay. They normally activate within 24 hours of you receiving the kit.
 
Anyone signed up yet? Are you restricted to the base station in your area?

No it is not restricted to location the only restriction is that the internet only works on Telkom LTE or MAYBE LTA-A not able to test that. 3G and 2G and roaming works but no data connection you can only make calls.

So after ordering on the 24 December my kit arrived today. Sim card also not active. Still waiting for my SMS and DO to run ???
