More device support from ShowMax

A lot of people are waiting on that PS4 app.

Probably the easiest way to get into the living room.
 
I got the ShowMax trial not long ago and it was rubbish. 720p quality was the least of my concerns - the selection of stuff to watch was truly abysmal. And the few good series were missing seasons like mad. Let's not even start on the movie selection. Yeah, cancelled that pretty quick.
 
Android TV (MXQ Pro 4k) still not working - blue circle . No matter what SHowmax says - only MyGica Android supported and nothing else.
There I go and stop my subscription and hello KODI.
 
Good progress, 1080p, Roku and UWP to get Xbox and windows covered is all that is truly lacking.
 
Problem is.. device limit hampers me.. so I have to choose devices carefully

Yeah this never made any sense. Why not limit concurrent streams like Netflix?

Guessing it's a licensing restriction.
 
Had both Netflix and Showmax. Cancelled Showmax. I have an Apple TV4 and a Samsung Smart TV. Showmax works fine on the Apple TV but isn't very good on the Smart TV. Kids watch on the smart TV but going into Showmax it only shows partial list even scrolling doesn't change the list thus they are unaware of shows actually being provided by Showmax, you have use the search function painstakingly typing each letter using a tv remote. On the Apple TV get a full list but you still need to click on the title first to get the synopsis where in Netflix it changes at the top thus quicker to see what the show is about. Netflix has profiles thus each of us have our own list of shows/movies...Showmax doesnt (or if it does have it never heard of it or its hidden and difficult to use). Mainly got Showmax for the Afrikaans content for the wife however they are so far behind vs DSTv it isnt worth it (Showmax or DSTv)

Nope.. it's just a dumb restriction in an attempt to avoid people from sharing an account but they still have concurrent stream thing too if i recall. It's silly.. so now i just use on atv4, smart tv(2nd on not connected to atv4), smart tv in cpt x2 and iPad.. but annoyed as my netflix account i happily pay for 3-4 streams and use on 7-9 devices (family sharing account / multi devices so e.g. a single tv sometimes has smart app and atv4 etc).

They need to remove limit but restrict concurrent because its the norm to have minimum 1 (or 2) streaming devices per person excluding tv (assuming phone and tablet) and if u have 2-4 people in family with multiple tvs/devices this 5 limit thing is extremely annying.

Also the profile thing is not on all apps which supper annoying too

Damn, still no sight of an XBox One app. I would have thought that would be easier to develop than the PS4 app. Especially since the XBox One supports UWP.

I wonder if red tape is maybe holding it back. I don't know.

Probably just down to marketshare.

Xbox only really does well in the US.

nVidia Shield TV Pro works perfectly too.

And support for WIN 10 OS systems? Which desktop/laptop browsers will this app work on?

As usual a half-baked launch announcement.
