MWEB Throttling

Some of you recent posters are blind ;P As schumi pointed out, that statement was made 3 months ago. Catch a wake up ^^

Please note the word PRESENT in my post ....... I think its safe to say we realise the thread was started prior to the current MWEB issue, but we are simply protesting MWEBs throttling thru any available avenue. I caught that wake up ", but thanks for the sage advice anyway.....

Eventually went over to Afrihost where uncapped actually means uncapped, what a pleasure.

Just cancelled today with mweb...hope to get my confirmation soon.

Ridiculous throttling by mweb even though I was on the 1mb uncapped premium account but they started throttling me at 35gb:confused:

You can only conclude that they want to lose clients,

Good Morning Martian

The throttled product is not ideal for gaming and downloading, as it was not designed for this purpose.

If you are downloading or gaming, I would suggest the premium shaped or unshaped product. This will probably suite your needs a bit better.

Kind regards

So why was the 4M uncapped Premium not up to the task since a few month ago?

Also you forgot to mention you are not allowed to use your service 24/7 neither are you allowed to steam YouTube at free will.

MWeb became the pits since a few months ago and they will tell lies to try and retain customers!

Well done lad. Spread the [-]word[/-]love, tell every human being you know or see that MWeb are a bunch of con artists since their previous CEO left, the current one is a can't thus they are not an ISP's a$$ any more!

So I'm guessing 35GB is where they start throttling? Great, these last five GB's are going to need to be stretched out over the next 10 days.

But then you need to pay for it. These cheapie home uncapped products were created because the masses don't value quality, only price. So don't blame MWEB for creating a product based on price and not quality.

Blame the OP for choosing the product designed around price, instead of the product based around quality.

Until a few weeks ago there was nothing wrong with these same "mass" accounts. I was actually jealous and considered downgrading but alas MDweeps made up my mind for me and I left.

So they sold the accounts under false pretences and they deserve all the bad rap.

Hi Inzaghi007

Please PM me your account details and I will have a look at your service status.

I am also moving but to openweb . Tried their trail account was awesome playing online compared to mweb. Just glad i'm done with em

Just got off the phone with Mweb cancellation, this throttling is ridiculous... my internet connection is throttled beyond use. Considering their website is still advertising the 1meg uncapped accounts as "premium uncapped" (i've been struggling with streaming for quite a few months as it is)

Last night i tried a speedtest which result was 0.06mbps? Right now steam is trying to download a client update, going a 650bytes/s and maxing out at 2kb/s

I have no problem being throttled but, going as far as throttling to a point of the connection being useless is a bit overkill

Lets call it what it is, a cap. I don't use my Mweb account at home anymore. Our router is actually turned off. I cant even load SA websites. We use Afrihost mobile data now at home.

I will never forgive Mweb for this. Throttle to 50% of the speed is acceptable, but to the point where the connection is dead. I will spread unkind words about Mweb for as long as I breath.
