Why must you pay R550 pm just to watch ads in your shows. Do they really need more funds from advertisers to fund their outdated shows?

Buy yourselves a 2TB Mede8er, connect it to your pc, download your favourite shows in HD, and watch them through your mede8er....

I will never in my life buy PIRATED stuff, nor do i recommend anyone here to do this... come on guys there is no need to ever BUY pirated, its always available for free, sharing is the nature of the internet, and these guys need to realize that the internet community likes sharing/trading and spreading files(even series).
It is only piracy if money is exchanged from the deal, but honestly its more like borrowing a DVD from a friend, only this way I dont have to worry about scratching his disc, or having to return it. I dont have the space to keep it, so once im done i delete it.... Now if i borrowed it made copies and sold it... Hellya yes then now thats piracy, and deserves a lockup

The HD PVR has 4 inputs one of them was supposed to be used for on demand why can't I order the episode and it streems down to my pvr via satalite and I can watch it later really a wast of time
Why can't I connect a ethernet cable into my PVR and select the episode via a web interface and it streams down via the satilite this is how Tivo works
I would want this service to mature into a Video shop replacement not to watch all the crap that is repeated constantly on DSTV again

I Beleive MWEB are trying but joined forces with the wrong company.
Uncapped - yeah
DSTV - Noooo, R600, does not show many of the TV series i want to watch. Have to wait for new movies and TV series.
Face it, i rather download for free.
BUT, if you offer me, for e.g., a new season of a TV series for R100 (it costs say R250 for the DVD's - though u have to wait for it).
Movies for R10 (can hire at DVD store for R25) (Mnet releases them a couple of months after the DVD release).
Oh yes, stuff in HD too.
So package 20 TV series at R1500 per year, and available as soon as US release.
Package 50 movies at R400, DVD release.
Still way cheaper than anything, and i am paying for the bandwidth.
Until media companies realise what the consumer wants, i will continue to download for free.
Oh wait, no TV ads. In any case, i dont watch TV ads. We are a different generation where our lives are not predictable. I cannot fix time slots for TV - it makes my life precitable as well.

I just thought about this , and LOL , you get to see what exactly ? Last nights HOT debate from soweto tv ? The series of lost that is 2 years old but is being branded as hot new episodes ? Really now, lets be brutally honest their first time viewed episodes of a new series are all re-runs , most of the people on these forums could give you a break down of any series on DSTV . I heard about LOST from guys from the news servers , full season 1 was available while the first few had hardly been shown . I am sure the same goes for Prison Break .
Surely if a series is old i wont cost them anything to make it free for download ? O but wait , what am i saying ... Look how popular the Original Star trek became ...... Then DSTV/Mweb might think all the crud they buy and flog off on us will in turn be a classic ..... Free the web ? More like Free the mind , and the @ss will follow ! Make old series available for download , series that we the premium users and mweb subscribers want and ask for . We would like to see Friends the first 3 series , NOT the first 3 years of EGOLI , but if some people ask for that , then so be it .
Make the Egoli omnibus down loadable , but give US the subscribers the voice and the choice of saying what we would like to see , SCI-FI series , what WE deem as great , not some 22 year old who never grew up watching the original Battlestar Gallectica . Create a vast array that will appeal to a variety of audiences , for sport fans , make all the classic rugby games avalaible , get some of the supersport presenters and commentators to bring forth a list of what games they think are great and that the public would like to see again and again . The 95 rugby world cup Final for example , make it available for download , sports fan will love it .

Either as a stand-alone offering , R600 p/month for on-demand content is too much. I can buy a NETFLIX sub for $8 a month = R60 a month and see much more content. Don't tell me i need to pay 10 times more to watch RUGBY.
Also not a chance anyone is going to now buy an MWEB ISP account -and- DSTV Premium [R500 + R600] just to ACCESS the on-demand content...again are they mad even insinuating this ?
