haha, I seem to recall SAOL great "surprise announcement" was a cancellation of all uncapped 384kbps accounts with over 30GB of usage... (or something along those lines)...
 
Lets see whats changed - Competition in the SatTV & Uncapped ADSL -> MWEB DSTV relaunched and free streaming of dstvbroadband and supersport on MWEB network on uncapped account but then they say might happen. If Telkom increses lines speed to 10Megt there will be no increase in the uncapped account price?
 
If Mweb and Multichoice both have an announcement to make, then surely this is a converged service offering?

The forum rep on the DSTV forum also mentioned that the upcoming announcement has something to do with the premium subscribers getting more 'services'.

Darn this is exciting if you are haven't already canceled DSTV.
 
OK a larger IPC which is a link into the ADSL cloud plus a hint that something is coming tomorrow. Ok if it isn't an IPTV offering I will eat my ... uh wait you guys will hold me to this.
 
mmm, if it is some converged service, hopefully its the other way round, those with 4mbps uncapped can stream any DSTV free... :P

I'll also go with the IPTV thing but not holding my breath price wise.

Dude what are you on about? I can pull 200gb if i wanted to and you moan? Are you moaning about the shaping during the day? I dunno man the 100 odd gb i did last month was awesome.

Nothing comes close to it, could have pulled 300gb if i wanted to start downloading the interwebz :D.
 
Maybe it's somthing like satellite broadband services at no aditional cost, you know like what they have in the US with Cable Broadband Internet.
 
Well a converged option would make me very happy.

It obviously a converged option. Their advertising for uncapped has always mentioned "sport" in the ads. That never quite made sense to me. Perhaps dstv premium (with slight iptv leanings) + 4meg uncapped for R799.
 
mmmm... time for a crazy prediction.

Mweb have negotiated with telkom and are now allowed to offer adsl complete packages without two line rentals. Well they did say they were in talks with telkom regarding this, so you never know.

Ya dude this would be awesome. So many people pay that money and don't even have a telephone. Could use that money to get 4 meg or something.

Maybe tomorrow we see the 384 peeps upgraded to 1 meg and 4 meg okes upgraded to 8/10 meg :D.

O yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bring it on!!!!!!!!!!

Bad thing about that is it's essentially a long term contract then. No more quick ISP swap if you are unhappy. Is that really worth R119?
 
does this mean if I only pay for ADSL line rental my phone line rental is free?? I still need the analogue line for phone calls. Not a 'naked' ADSl line.

no, the phone line portion will not function if you opt for naked ADSL. if you want a phone line you have to pay phone line rental.

You want to make phone calls you must pay, you want adsl with no telephone you must not pay :D
