naa seems its new uncapped account for small business, so maybe even decent price for home users, thinking this accounts will have less shaping.

had nice speeds yesterday where download speed was 400kb/s for normal downloads,100kb/s for torrents and i could watch a vid without it even needing to buffer.

normal download speed is now 50kb/s,torrents going at 7kb/s and vid buffers every 2 seconds.really weird.

My international also just died, about 36 minutes ago. Browsing is really slow and playing online games is impossible without being disconnected. My line stats are the same as normal.

I have had the same issue, not on mweb though.
My telkom account and my openweb account both have issues, slow connections, now everything is buffering where usually it does not as I'm on a 10 meg line.
Something is up somewhere.

I can still play online without dc's, but my latency is twice as high with spikes reaching 2-3k ms. Local ping to mweb shows the standard 42ms however and google is about 100ms higher than usual and is consistent, but still crap :<

Anybody want to hazard a guess at whats happened?

Important router carrying traffic between city hubs gone down on the telkom netowrk. hmm. but that also doesnt make sense since the only traffic that was allowed still when the international crashed was local.. so meh.

Yeah my average ping to battleping England server is around 236-237. I am sitting about 100 ms higher on average around 337-338. Cant raid due to terrible throughput. Dont know what happened but local is still fine, only international is affected.

Edit: Tried the Trial WebAfrica and im getting a 200 ping to the battleping England server. So...

Due to a SEACOM cable break all P2P traffic has been cut back until further notice.

Hi All,

There is a cable break just north of Cairo on the SE-ME-WE-4 leg of the Seacom cable. Engineers will only be able to attend to this during the course of this morning due to the current curfew conditions in the region. We do have some alternative bandwidth on the SE-ME-WE-3 leg of the Seacom cable, and of course we have our full SAT 3 capacity. We are currently operating at about 65% of our full international requirement and we will manage traffic protocols accordingly e.g. Peer-2-Peer will be de-prioritised. We will keep you updated of any developments.

P.S. This is NOT related to the MWEB Launch today.
