It's still better than the competition though. I'm currently downloading from usenet at 90kB/s, yesterday I was getting 440kB/s at the same time of day. The inconsistencies suck, but for R500 odd, you won't find a better value for money service. I'd love to get full speeds all night, but I'm not yet willing to go back to axxess express at R999.
 
Also slow as hell here...pages dont open, time outs, whats next?

Something has been bothering me for a while now.

Howcome when you sign your posts you sign MWB instead of MWEB? Do you have a bias against vowels?

You know, when I was with Neotel, I made the decision to go from 4MB to goto Neotel and I accepted that I was only ever going to get 100KB/s ±
Then, I goto Neotel and bam, after 2 months, the entire thing goes to hell, then I come to 4MB ADSL again and well, I'm more than happy to accept 100KB during the day, but when things goto 20/30KB/s - you know that is just plain ***!

I fully agree with you regarding 20-30kB/s speeds. My comment was with regards to speeds around 130kB/s. That's not bad when compared to what we were getting with Neotel. Especially when you consider what we were paying for it.
 
Interesting that speeds pick up at 11pm. This is about the time I am on my way to bed. Seems the shaping is working as intended. I would hate to have problems doing my late night browsing and video streaming because people want to download. Leave the downloads for early morning hours when everyone is sleeping :P
 
Another happy MWEB customer. My 4meg line got faster since yesterday. My download speed hovered around 210kbps, now its 430kbps+, sometimes even faster. Does it take time for everything to settle down?

Keep up the good work, MWEB!
 
im still experience slow speeds and alot of connection resets/timeouts ,also mika1000 are you just going to copy and paste that post in every thread just to bump up your post count?
 
On a 384 line I have gotten 33k max. in the last 4 hours on P2P during the day yesterday it was dismal at < 5k. So in 24hours only 4 hours are usable on P2P & News Servers would be my assumption.
 
MWEB posted on their facebook group that 20KB/s is really really slow and they are looking into it (for someone) and I got a PM and "The MWEB guy" said the same thing to me.

Guys most post there - let people know, it'll force them to take us more seriously!
 
Well I use to get about 6gb and it went up to around 8gb now so they are doing something a bit more right :) But don't want to say something good just yet.
