thanks, i figured it out, i thought it would be dslmweb.co.za since that is the router login, but it was in the end mweb.co.za
@MWeb, on my billing page, it lists debit order as payment method. I wasnt asked when signing how i wanted to pay, so I want toknow if I can change that to credit card?
Getting really annoyed with the speed currently...
Before the BIG MWEB upgrade i had a download speed of least 250-300kbs during off-peak on a 4meg line...
A grey`s episode downloaded fairly quickly, within the hour normally, and the most recent episode normally has thousands of seeds.
Saturday i started the torrent via utorrent at 10am, it finished sunday at 2... I mean seriously. it dl at 10-15kbs. WTF? 350megs and it took more than a day?
all my stuff is super slow ever since this so called "upgrade" finished. and its not due to the issues mweb had on sunday morning... its happening throughout last week already.
I thought more bandwidth was added 2 weekends ago? Dont dig this upgrade shyte... its just screwing with my dl patterns.. I cant run more than 1 dl cause it slows down the other dl`s.
I might as well downgrade to the uncapped 384kps as its seems they faster than what i am getting.
Can Mweb just please explain if its a new shaping policy, have the rules changed?... whats the point in paying for a 4meg line if the dl speeds are even below the 384kps offering?
I really need to know, otherwise i might as we cancel the whole thing and go with another service provider.. or does mweb kill your speed automatically after 3 months?
My average dl for each month was like 60-70gigs... thats not abuse for a 4meg line...
Edit: I went trhough my list of old MWeb DNS servers, and found one in Cape Town (fast) that seems to work (may not work for everybody).
196.2.46.254 (ns2.mweb.co.za), with any of the others as an alternate DNS.
Stuck that into my modem's DNS and rebooted but still no NNTP connection #meh
Woke up this morning to no Internet. Got an uplink and downlink connection, so it's not the Telkom Line. Morningside, Sandton.
Anyone else?

OK this may be classified as a rant.
I am on a 4mb Mweb Uncapped shaped line, but my speeds vary when downloading on HTTP (my company website) from 12kb/s to 40kb/s.
Is this possible guys, I am not a noob but this does not seem right? What do you guys think?
I phone Mweb support and the person asks me to change my realm to @mweb instead of @dslmweb. Does not have any effect.
The guy tells me that he will get a specialist to phone me.
The "specialist" phones me only to tell me, to change my realm again! Obviously after this has no effect, he asks me to use his FNB Connect account and gives me the details over the phone to test.
Immediately I am running on 400kb/s (The speed I am paying for)
Now the specialst tells me that we will escalate the issue as clearly something is wrong. This was last week Thursday and no response as yet.
Any of the mweb guys on here willing to help?![]()
