seems my line is upgraded to 4mb, but sales consultants says i must phone to tomorrow to upgrade the account :S
 
Another evening of slow downloads running at 384K speeds, while using a 1GB account from Afrihost works fine
 
OK what the hell, after mayby 5 disconnects in the last few days because my line has problems syncing news server connection with 196.28.78.229 is completely dead and connection with news.mweb.co.za is even deader than it usaually is, getting 1-3KBps down.

edit: ok mind u thats news.mweb.co.za's usual speed these days with the aggressive shaping, what happened to the other connection though?

ou should be using jhb-news.mweb.co.za. that one i get full speed, when i get a spot, just open and close grabit until you get a spot.
 
A news server address that has spots?
sigh mayby DNS is hating me...again, wtf is up with western cape DNS? It's always more problem prone than every other place in the country.

Funny thing half the reason i use news server in the first place is torrents are so horribly shaped that for the last mayby 7 weeks ive bin downloading a 5.38GB download 24/7 and...likely still got a week left to go.
And yes it's a VERY well seeded torrent.

Axxess suspending account for downloading torrents
My brother downloaded the movie Salt, from a torrent service, the other day and we got an email from IS saying bla bla delete it or we will suspend your account. I ignored it like many people on MyBroadband, and then today i couldn't connect to the internet. I first thought it was a problem with IS, but I e-mailed Axxess and they told me that my account has been suspended for downloading illegal software.

Then he goes and say "I thought it was idle threats". Seriously NO LOGIC whatsoever...

I think people need to get it in their HEADS 95% of Torrents are illegal, stop moaning.
 
No you need reconnect until you get a spot, i don't have spot also, if pause or disconnect you lose your spot.

Me too...

MWeb there is something wrong with your network..

DOnt blame Telkom.. as there seems to be a number of users with the same problem
