I'm on 4Mb/s uncapped. This is what I'm getting at the moment

From the beginning I was getting at least 4Mb/s, but it does fluctuate between 6Mb/s and 3.2Mb/s

Thanks for the update, connectivity was shoddy for about 30 mins this evening so this was the first place i checked ;)

Everything just died ..... streaming and downloading completely dead, browsing 98% dead, takes forever to open a page, local and Int.

Any IS account is returning pings of 100 plus as well, so once again ........ ffs

C'mon Mweb, why are the system so shaky the last week. International seems to be either slow or dead this morning. Some pages do not load.

Hi Guys,

Are you still experiencing this problem?
I am looking into this matter for you and will provide you with an update as soon as I can.

Hi Guys

There was a brief dip in traffic, everything seems to be stable again. Our engineers will continue to monitor.

BITTORRENT TEST

The way we tested this was to download a 20mb file on the machine, reimage the machine and then redownload the file. We chose a file that had 4437 seeds and 307 leechs. This way we were not depending on someone else’s slow connection.

Here are the results.

GamCo – 331 Kbytes/s Office Hours – 353 Kbytes/s After Hours = Average 342 Kbytes/s
OpenWeb – 272 Kbytes/s Office Hours – 250 Kbytes/s After Hours = Average 261 Kbytes/s
Afrihost – 303 Kbytes/s Office Hours – 194 Kbytes/s After Hours = Average 249 Kbytes/s
Mweb – 19 Kbytes/s Office Hours – 93 Kbytes/s After Hours = Average 56 Kbytes/s

Do I even need to comment?

I for one will DEFINITELY be investigating Gamco, with speeds like that, during the day and night, they outclass MWEB on all levels.

they got 2.63mps on speedtest, saying there line cant even do 4mb?( 4mb get 3.5mbs on speedtest)

they comparing a unshaped product there, go dl a few gigs and you see throttle hammer get unleased, then do test again.

I can say one thing, Helkom are also working on exchanges - my line dropped and resynchronized about 15 times while I went home for lunch
