This is truly getting ridiculous, everything is dead slow, takes up to 5 minutes to load a web page if it opens at all. Youtube does not work at all...

trust me people. It might be your pc. I did a reload on my operating system and everything seems super fast. doing nntp downloads, music stream, and talking on ts with no issues o and also have steam open.

before the reload my nntp speeds was 100KB/s and now its 400KB/s since I reloaded my operating system yesterday. Might be malware, spyware etc affecting your systems. If you don't want to believe me then I can just say stay with slow internet there is no hope for you.

how come my speeds going super fine now and other people complaining. even check your marconi filters, or installing untangle (www.untangle.com) firewall will help. I tested all of this and it works. So it's all up to you if you want to get faster internet or not.

also before i forget one more suggestion get microsoft security essensials cause it have anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spyware in for free and the system resources is minimal. I'm really helping you guys out hre cause i want to reduce the complaints here. Malware and spyware can really make you pc slow and our internet slow even disable anti- virus software without you even noticing.

Regards
JohnnyBravo

Nelis you seem to miss a fairly important factor, everything runs smoothly when you use another isp.

So if it was the system surely it would affect all accounts and not just one?

wow this is epic, I have never seen neils ever recently come here to post that his Mweb account is running well :)

For me it is not malware because when I switch to another ISP account my speeds are fine. I have been using MWEB uncapped since it was launched last year. Up until April 2011 I was happy with the speeds I was getting except when there was a problem with SEACOM. At the beginning of May however MWEB implemented "a new bandwidth management device at their London POP" and since then the quality of the product has deteriorated for me to the point where I am now ready to jump ship.

You've solved all the problems. Quick everyone rebuild their PC's! :erm:

Been having shoddy nntp for the last few days - last night it went back to full steam again. From 20:00 it slowly increased until it reached full speed at 2:00 and then at 9:30 this morning the shapers kicked in again.

I am having a similar problem with NNTP.

Also been having issues since Friday, but it was not terrible. I'm on 4MB and getting around 290kbs, then yesterday and today I have been having really bad connection speeds, averaging between 80 and 120kb/s It even took about a minute and a half to load the flash plugin at Speedtest.net.
Trying to download an update took forever. Now doing a ping to fileforum I get the following.

Something is definitely up. I'm in the Blouberg area in Cape Town

see you using grabit try SAnzb, the web based downloader, my grabit wont even connect sometimes etc, switched to sanzb, and getting very good speed from mweb news server.

Thanks for the heads up - downloading it now, will see if it makes any difference.
