I am bitterly dissapointed with Mweb. Things are progressively getting worse and worse. Below is what I get on my 4m line.

I think you've got to know 0.29Mb on your 4mb line just isn't right. I've never seen speeds anywhere close to that slow on speedtest and you shouldn't either. If that's vaguely normal for you then it needs to be fixed soon because it's surely a major problem, or just move to any other ISP. No point staying with speeds like that, it's not shaping.
At least my 1gig afrihost can be used for a whole month's worth of sc2, thats how little cap it takes, clearly it should be shaped to protect mweb !!!!!11111one
On a serious note, 9kb/s NNTP at 7:16 pm ffs, this isnt office hours ! Browsing feels slow, FTP secure server goes at 19kb/s.
I would like to ask this question again to Mweb guy or Will.
Q: There has been allot of talk about P2P being shaped, we shouldnt expect full speed, as with 1 click hosting sites etc etc etc. I would just like to ask, what should we expect to get full speeds on? Speed tests also doesnt show full speeds. HTTP, FTP servers youtube does not hit full speed at 7pm. So my question is simple, you have made it clear that we should not expect full speed on allot of stuff, what can we expect full speeds on?
Q2: If we cannot expect full speed on anything, shouldnt you rename your account to "uncapped 56k - 384k" instead of uncapped 384k for example? My reasoning being if you cannot hit 38kb/s on anything then its not actually suppose to say 384k.. I could be wrong
Mweb guy? Seeing as your online and all giving a generic response to another paying customer.
All his going to do is put off your protected access on your account (which blocks ports generally used for hacking) and then not tell you that he did it (so you can put it on again after it didnt work)
Moral of the story, if you disable a function that protects a user from hackers or w/e, be sure to tell then your actually doing it so they can enable it again if the "fix" doesnt work. FYI, unblocking those ports wont fix your new aggressive shaping protocols.

I'm still on 512 and I don't even know yet if I "qualify" for the upgrade so I have to wait & see until June 1st, then if there's no improvement I'll have to cancel & I guess sue for a refund.

I can see a bunch of MWeb techies sitting there in data centres, betting money on how many pages will be added to this forum before they have to do anything
And saying "Send me your pm" doesn't count!
Everything was looking and performing better on my account since Friday......until tonight just after 7:30PM!! Before that I was downloading iTunes podcasts at between 250KB/s and 400KB/s. Since after 7:30PM I am now barely doing 25KB/s to max 70KB/s!!!! Its now back to they way things where the whole of last week. Whats now gone wrong MWEB????

News server (Giganews) was dead earlier (around 5PM), but now running at around 100 KB/s.
If its any consolidation, OpenWeb GOLD IS is giving me the same result....

Heres what I don't understand. Things were working perfectly a month ago. I was able to stream Youtube, do my AVG and Microsoft updates. Now I can barely browse international sites and I'm downloading files on a GOOD day at 10kb - if I'm lucky.
It takes me 30+ mins to load the Speed Test site and most times my results to Durban, CT, JHB and NY are to depressing to even post. Today I'm seeing the best results I've had in days.

i just did a few hcs with voip running highest ping was 175 :/

Ummm forgive me if I'm mistaken but isn't 175ms an absolutely FANTASTIC ping? Maybe you left out a digit?

was 2 days last week i could not log in though my friend play fined on my account which was weird :/
