Seeing some improvement now, getting speeds just under 200 now so much better already.

dude, I was in the same boat as you. Wasnt a fan.... But once you realise the value of having everything on one client, and in hand with a uncapped line it really is a force to be reckoned with!!! MWEB seems to give priority to steam traffic which is good. On my uncapped line while Im downloading a ATI driver (http/ftp) at 4K/sec (shaped to hell and back) my steam download hummms along at like 350K/sec. And that was without my download centre selected to MWEB, it was just on Cape Town. Not sure if it makes a difference.

Point? Get steam, its worth it.

I wont even start about the prices and specials... :love:

Ok firstly, about 2 weeks a go my problems were logged & a techie phoned me (asked the usual spiel) issue was escalated. I still get the odd sms that its under investigation. So no Idea whats happening there, alltho my HTTP speeds seem better. But still its slack feedback for a client in my opinion.

Now back to the new (but was an old issue) Black Ops. Yesterday was a complete FAIL. Could not connect, If i could there were many times in game when I got the "Steam connect Fail" or "Black Ops is not Available" error, kicking me out of game. At the same time, I could connect just fine with Afrihost.... So please don't get a techie to ask me how my router is setup, or what DNS i am using (MWEB assigned - auto FYI). Also when this kak happens, Team Speak also disconnects continuosly. So there is something related.

Please I beg of you, let us know wtf is going on?!?! There are to many people who have the exact same shyte for it to be isolated!

Please provide me screenshots illustrating your connection problem to COD, also are you able to connect to COD now?

At work at the moment.... So cant test now. As for a screenshot, uhm whats the point. You start black ops, it says connecting, then fetching stats... and thats where it sits..... Have no Idea if it is the same today, but will know later. BUt if I recall, I posted a nice Youtube video of this exact same issue about a month ago ... I will find it for you... (BTW u guys sorted it out then, but ja nee....)

this is old, but look from about 2min in... that is what happened yesterday... From 3:50 thats Afrihost FTW!

The screenshots will assist with the escalating of your query, I will then be able to liaise with our Game master regarding your problem. The information would be much appreciated.

just an update from my side.
(HTC_guy can you pm me your download url as well to compare? thx :) )


feels like there is a solid throttle, yes i said throttle,cause shaping shapes traffic dynamicly with regards to current load, throttle limits you to a set specific speed... and i know mweb "do not throttle"
between 180-200KB/s on a lot of links, all of them in the same speed area

must be up in north issue(again), getting full speed on that nvidia drivers you linked.

you can pm me more links if you want me to test, took day off at work, to play ds3, just to get home and see , i cant because its not been released according to steam :/

oh and you guys must state if you using a download manager hey

if u use the browser (1 connection) it often goes at like 5K/sec but if you pop that same URL into FDM it humms along...
 
As wierdly shaped as HTTP is anything from gametrailers.com times out randomly....oh joy
 
Does anyone else's youtube clips always stop buffering at like 70%.
Lately mine just wont go past 70% no matter how long I leave it.
