No it is not. Using a non-standard port for NNTP such as 80, 8080, 25, etc. is seen as bypassing shaping.

Recently upgraded 4mbps line. R 900 a month.
Even 480p Youtube vides buffer, Justin.Tv streams won't work and yesterday when I tried to listen to (local) online RADIO, that wouldn't even work.
Really starting to wonder if this is worth it.

is anyone having any connectivity issues with accessing certain services, like twitter and itunes app store?
Browsing seems to be fine but when i try access twitter using the twitter app on my mac or ipad(my ipad is wifi only so i connect through wifi to my mweb account), it gives lots of errors.
i thought it may just be the ipad twitter app so i did a full reset and connected it to itunes to reconfigure it but itunes on the mac does not want to connect to the online store. it just gives a time out error.
but, browsing normally through the web browser seems fine.
are itunes and twitter app support down at the same time or am i just doing something wrong?
everything worked flawlessly till today then all of a sudden these connection issues started happening.
imon the 4meg uncapped account in pretoria.

Hi MagicDude4Eva,
Please do not cancel.
Your query has been escalated to our Service Desk and as soon as they provide me with feedback, I will update you.
Kind regards,
MWEB Guy
Dear MWEBGuy - my support ticket from 10.6. has remained unanswered and all my posts to this thread have been blatantly ignored. My cancellation form is on it's way (considering my current 20KB/sec it will perhaps take some time).
Your support staff and customer care have completely failed and this should be a clear indication for everyone wanting to join MWEB, that customer retention is not a priority.
With regards to your uncapped offering, it should be a reasonable expectation that a user is able to download at least 100GB of traffic and thereafter face degradation of service. Perhaps your marketing guys should revisit the definition of a power-user, as it appears that in MWEB's books this is someone who perhaps does not download more than 20GB of traffic. While other customers suffer from poor line conditions, my service has degraded from the minute I changed my login details to MWEB. Your lack of transparency with regards to shaping and literally suspending users accounts (I doubt anyone can call 20KB/sec a usable service in this day and age) leaves me with a bitter taste and the feeling of "having had". Uh well, your competitors are currently enjoying your demise and lack of customer focus at least ;-)
someone call you with feedback tomorrow as they are not available currently
