i do on average 60gb a month getting random stuff

I would love to see the 384Kbit line that does 200GB a month :P
 
thx for feedback guys seems mweb not too strict on the 384 users as much as 4mb ones :)

It was working after 7 again, but some nights it doesn't work at all
 
Having a minor issue, games on Google plus don't load on my Mweb ADSL but do if I switch to 3G or another ADSL account. Otherwise everything else is 100%

Getting ups and down with regards latency and slowness and the news server is not connecting when it was connecting 30mins ago (but only going a 3rd of the line speed). Anything going on?
 
Ok as stated in one of my earlier posts things don't work at all or are up and down all week on my pc, downloads and PS3.. come the weekend everything works fine.. so then I would asume it is throttling protocols, but on PS3?

Told mweb techi to give me another call on monday.
But will keep updating on the status

Got a new 4mb line from Telkom and 4mb account from MWEB for the first 2 weeks i was so happy now from about 2 days ago looks like my line/account has died called Telkom did a port reset and boom still nothing speedtest.net does not even want to load ?

same with Fileserve.

usually on weekends during day can expect full speed, but today it is just sad.

I guess something is better than nothing, but at this speed when you used to full line speed, I would prefer nothing :P

Please send me the update after the MWEB techie calls you on Monday.

Just on the note of, the assumption MWEB is throttling PS3 --> Not true.

We DO NOT throttle. Shape -> yes

I myself play PS3 games and have no problems with it, does not matter which game I play. I must confess it was a bit laggy on the shaped account I had, so I changed to unshaped and boy am I having fun:)

FYI: no I have no special line.

Abuse is not determined by the total number of GB. It's determined by how those GB are downloaded. Don't bypass the shaping and download max out the line 24/7/365.
 
my wife just read some of this forum and asked if it shouldnt rather be called the dial-up thread.... : )

we haven't seen speeds like this since the early 2000's

Any luck?? Was thinking of upgrading from 384kb to 4mb with Mweb.
 
Download speed stuck at 50kbs atm (half speed). Anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: jumping around between 20 and 48 now.

Seems like the slow speeds are on torrents, megaupload, hotfile, etc.

Are they shaped that badly on weekends or is something wrong?
 
think still a Seacom issue and until it sorted, ISPs seem to either shape/throttle/block certain stuff.

say this because yesterday encountered a specific time where my FS was full speed, but few hours later back to slow to nothing speeds.

this was during the day where usually over weekends file hosts are generally high to full speed.

could be wrong on the Seacom thing though.

For the last +-2 weeks its been slow on weekends, only hope now is the planned upgrades Will@mweb stated will happen at the end of next week
 
I really hope it gets fixed soon. At the moment my download which would have taken 50min to an hour to complete is telling me that it has 6 hours before it is done. 6 hours for 310mb

SEACOM was down for an hour a few weeks ago.
