Also reporting very dead speeds all of a sudden.

*Edit* and posting this took a while too.

Thank you for informing me, I am not aware of any issues currently, I will look into this for you

lol, 2k MS in wow with 4mb line, i guess our uncapped is getting last priority.

waiting for openweb's gaming uncapped promotion to start for 4mb and then I am over to them, done trying to be the patient customer ;)

9kbps download right now, but speedtest show 0.92 mbps down, 0.42 mbps up and ping 0.57ms. somehow dont make sense.

cybersmart say 0.80 & 0.40 & 0.26 but actual download 106kbps... dont undersand this???

my adsl is so slow can't open any webpage but torrentz is flying at 400KB/s. Just a note I browse while no torrents is running in the background. Please investigate for me

My connection (uncapped 384) with Mweb has been seriously crap all day ;( Sites take forever to load, downloads time out etc etc. Torrents, however, seems fine - at really crap speeds of course, but at least the connections seem stable.

I'm having the same issue with slow to non existent browsing speeds when using the routers dialed connection. However if I dial a PPPoE connection through windows then all is fine.

for those that missed it, you still in the maintenance window, rather wait until after to see what happens :).

Only a friendly reminder. be nice :)

Hi Everyone,

Please be advised that we will be carrying out an upgrade to our network in our JHB data centre this weekend. The work is scheduled to last from 22h00 on Saturday 3rd September to 10h00 on Sunday 4th September.

Our ADSL, 3G and Dial-Up networks will not be affected and browsing and connectivity will continue as per normal. The following services will, however, be unavailable during the change.
• MWEB E-Mail and Message Centre
• Websites hosted on our Shared and Uncapped Hosting platforms will not be available, both for browsing, or updating of content)
• VOIP Services (Webcall, etc)
• JHB NNTP News Servers
• MWEB Game Servers Hosted in JHB
• The MWEB Portal (www.mweb.co.za including My Account and .Mobi)

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.

Kind regards,

MWEB Guy

I also have slow browsing to myadsl an some other sites. some sites are super fast. It started since yesterday at 12:00 maybe earlier. I will wait til 10 but according to it being since 12:00 yesterday tells me it's not due to the upgrades

I don't know if this is related to the maintenance, but this morning my traffic from MWeb (CT) to Telkom hosted sites (peering) no longer goes via London (much faster!)

Hi hereticangel

That is correct.
There is traffic flowing between our respective networks, but the nature of this relationship is governed by an Non-Disclosure Agreement so we cannot give more details than that at this stage.
