Velcro - Get the industrial kind if you are paranoid. Normal is fine though since the wind will forever be pushing it on.

If you are able to find a perpex supplier that does transparent orange, hey presto you can get a light cover for R50. I struggled though to source it in CT and someone just bought it for my birthday so ya

ah sweet, thanks.

saw a really *** one yesterday.
Taxi went into the back of a bike on Braam Fisher. Obviously speeding, there were looong skid marks.
The front of the taxi was completely bent in, bumper bent in half.

Biker was on his feet and looked ready to moer the taxi driver. I would have done the same.

Hey guys,

Been riding my KTM 390 Duke for 4 or so months now, probably dropped upwards of R20k on gear, but its worth it.

I commute between 14th/Beyers Naude and Rivonia daily!

Good for you :)

What gear did you buy?

I bought the following initially:
Shoei GT-Air Helmet
Alpinestars Gunnar jacket
Alpinestars SP-8 Gloves
Kulcha Easy Over Pants
Forma Poker Boots
Harley Davidson Inner gloves
Jonsson Workwear Rainsuit

That has been expanded by purchasing the following 2nd hand:
Ducati Urban Leather Jacket
2x pairs of riding jeans
Random pair of winter gloves

Recently bought these:
Alpinestars S-MX 2 Gloves
Alpinestars Santiago Gloves (Christmas present from my SO)
Alpinestars Oxygen Air Over Pants (Christmas present from my SO & Mom)

So, what do you guys think of the triumph street triple? Would be my primary transport. Are they reliable?

Most modern bikes (except Chinese we get in SA) are as reliable as the maintenance they receive and the care taken in riding them. That said... A Triumph? Oh HELL YES! Go for it. Stunning scoot btw.

There is footage floating around of a road bike crash involving two bikes and a car with bikes being doing 300kph at the time. The aftermath is also show and its horrific.

Somebody in South Africa owns one of those H2R's and Kawasaki South Africa can not support it in terms of servicing and spares.

yeh, my colleague showed me that.... i'm not posting that here

stupid idiot that tried to pass the truck/bus to closely at 300km/h

I won't recommend it since they walk the accident scene afterwards and I the worst part is that I found it in my facebook. Lets just say that at that speed no amount of riding gear and run off area will safe you.

Edit.
Just saw the video got posted. The crash ends at 30 seconds from their on in its the aftermath.
