any news?

so my homemade helmet headset works well. not the best quality but good enough for now. can listen to music at highway speeds and take calls up to 80km/h else the wind becomes a bit much in the mic.
Luckily for me KTM Centurion offered to pick the bike up from my house on Tuesday :)

Apparently doing 140 with a kid on the back:

Now I'm not defending the biker, but one thing I realised when getting my bike is that people don't like/distrust bikes and bikers. Their first reaction is that it's reckless and dangerous to use a bike at all. I'm constantly we explaining to people that's it's not as bad as they think it is.

That said name and shame the guy if he genuinely did that speed with a kid who could easily fall off doing even slow speeds, but my point is there are many people out there who would post that just cause they dislike bikers.

P.S why am I constantly having to explain to people that lane splitting is a thing and legal...?

It might not be as bad or dangerous as they think it us, but it is still way more dangerous than driving a car (and not necessarily because if the biker).

Even if that guy was within the speed limit (120 since that is the N12 East) it us still pretty stupid if him.

Definitely more dangerous than driving a car, but so is swimming in the sea vs a pool or walking in your yard vs walking in the Street it makes no difference. People shouldn't complain as much as they do.

Yeah that guy's a bit of a tool, that kid can barely put his arms around the dudes back.

Just a Quick Q: Is tinted Visor's illegal in SA?

About as illegal as a pair of sunglasses?
I thought it was illegal in the UK but I see royal Jordanian rides around with a super dark visor. I assume it will only be a problem with the cops if you ride at night. Here I wouldn't worry when if it was illegal but doubt it is.

I'm not even sure what the supposed wrongful action was from that post? What exactly did he do that was supposedly so stupid?

Even the speed issue is very debatable from a person who simply observed it with no equipment. My car says it's doing 139km/h when it's actually doing 120km/h etc.

2 of them on cheeks one on either side 1 though on my chin where there's no contact. the helmet fits very snug but not overly tight.

i try to ride as much as i can, but i can't use the bike to go to work since i have to carry equipment. and i get home too late to go riding just for the heck of it. so weekends are really my only option, i don't have friends with bikes so nothing really pushing me to ride all the time.

I was thinking about this again last night, do you have long hair by any chance?

I know when my hear is longer I tend to get more pimples or rash like symptoms on my face. So it could very well be that it's not the helmet directly that's causing this but the fact that your hair is getting pushed up against your face maybe?

At the time my hair was long but my hair grows up not down so there's zero contact with my cheeks.

I'm struggling to take that facebook page seriously, too much "feminism."

And way too much presumption too.

Same chick will put her 18yo old behind the wheel of a 2ton car without blinking twice though, because you know it's "safe".

Thanks for the feedback guys :)

Any suggestions for tinting a clear visor darker?

Ive seen some YouTube DIY's, but I am not convinced. Isn't it possible to apply the same film one would use for a car window tint to your visor?

Kid on a bike. Suppose it is legal but I don't think it is a good idea.

EDIT: Is there an age limit for motorcycle passengers?

Certainly doesn't warrant that kind of response.

As you say it is legal (as long as their feet can safely touch the pegs).

My tougher will be on her own bike in no time and I'm sure on the back of mine on occasion as soon as she fits.

We might as well say taking our children outside is irresponsible...

Not 100% sure at this point. Going to have a look tomo in the light.
Stopped at robot and bike stalled. The clutch was not disengaging... The lever was very loose.
I pulled bike to side of road and adjusted clutch by lever. Managed to start and get into 1st without stalling. About 100 meters up the road same thing...
Adjusted lever to max so adjusted clutch cable by engine to the max. But even that won't disengage the clutch...

Anyone more mechanically minded got any idea? Like I say I will look properly tomo. If I can't fix it I got another problem - how do I get bike to the KTM about 3kms away...?
So KTM Centurion picked up my bike this morning and about 3 hours later it was fixed.
They told me what the issue was, something had to be adjusted inside the clutch. They said this is the first time they have seen this particular issue...
They didn't charge me anything to fix it All I paid was R200 for them to transport the bike which I think is a really good deal considering the missions/cost it would have been otherwise.
They even offered to come pick me up to fetch the bike once fixed
One more bonus is the bike got a long over due clean.
