Always more front brake than rear brake.

Even no rear brake at all is better than doing it the wrong way round.
Doesn't the NC have linked brakes? Then it might be the sensation of it self-pressuring the pedal.
ABS should "kick" back and then go pap. Feels like the swingarm snaps the first time you feel it and is very sensitive on the rear brakes of most ABS bikes.
But Honda loves their dual brakes so it's probably that. In which case you don't even ever need to use the pedal (bad habit but Ja).
The link is between back and front, not the other way round. The pedal actuates the middle pot of the front caliper, the lever actuates the other two.
