The ear plugs advice as suggested in here is well received... for higher speeds.

Since I'm past my run in milage the noise, never experienced with my scooter, is hectic.

Is handle bar grip soreness a norm, as my hands are sore after a trip, and I believe the grips might be too small.

It could be that you are gripping too hard.

Can you do the chicken while riding? If not you need to hold more with your legs.

You are of course riding with gloves? Even so I found the grips on my BMW too thin and bought some grip buddies.

where is the soreness? in the palms? might be a bit hard on the breaks?

The whole hand. Can't be the brakes, as it's both.

Good luck bru! How long did you wait for the bookin?

Thanks. I made the booking today and the test is 20/03/2017.

Gloves, yes.

Being able to wave your elbows.

You came from a scooter right? So you are used to a more comfortable posture almost hanging from the bars.

You now need to work on your core muscles and hold onto the bike with your legs.

The handlebars are controls to operate the bike, not to home onto it.

So hold more with your legs and release the grip. Also make sure your arms are bent and not locked straight.

"Flap" your elbows side to side easily and you know you are good to go.

Ah ha. The chicken dance. Thanks for the tips.

Basically you aren't bike fit.

Give it a few weeks and if it's not better look into getting Grip Buddies or Grip Puppies.

Agree with grip buddies, love them. Makes a big difference for me. Also you are probably too tense and gripping too hard. I tend to be a bit high strung on very busy highways, in KZN on the N3 its trucks, trucks and more trucks. This makes me hold on too tight and tires out my hands. Have to consciously remind myself to relax and not fight the natural balance....

Oh it's a GIF. but it's either broken or I don't get it.

Got a booked License test to pass out a week before my Learners expire, today. This is procrastination at its finest.
Let us know everything they make you do. I've had my learners for 7 months now, still long till it expires but would like to get my license, just want to be confident I'll get it.

Then pay R500 and go do the K53 training instead of playing the guessing game on the internet.

Finally got to commute on bike again this moring - so awesome :)

Or PM me... Since I have the test...
Passed my drivers first time without a single K53 lesson.

Going to book my license this morning. Fourways to randburg to midrand. Wish me luck mense.

Try Kempton - they usually go quicker. I remember for my Daughter's license it was within a week. Don't make the mistake of accepting a booking at the other testing stations and then trying to get a closer date from another. the booking will block your new one
