It is a 2008 SUZUKI GSXR GSXR750K7 . Yeah, I like to hear that you started on a 750. I am confident enough to know that if you drive like you should, then no problem, but if yoy drive like you are on a race track , well then, yes..But i do understand.

IMHO I wouldn't worry about the rear until cables start showing, but replace the front as soon as those indicator blocks within the grooves are level. So if the front is close to that, you may as well plan on replacing both in the near future.

No man. I do 45min - 1h to work, and back, with no issues, on a superbike (sure, there are others more comfortable)- that's not really a lot at all, methinks you're just not really bike-fit :D

How far do you ride? It's all academic until you actually ride a bike, but you may enjoy something like a Triumph Street Triple or one of the other naked bikes. About 20km each way, everyday. I see a petite female fly past me almost daily on her scooter, flat out , in her leathers, and beats the traffic like it's fun. Makes me want to dump my car and get on two wheels and join her:p

Bit of a misnomer there. K7 means 2007 - and if memory serves, the K6 and 7 are the same design, with the K8/9 being the incremental update- this is for the 600 / 750. So a K7 can't be a 2008my- can be registered as one though. One the 1000, the K7 would be the same design as the K8, as there's a year difference beginning with the launch of the GSX-R1000 in 2001 (whereas the 750 came all the way from 1985, each year, every year)

You know you can always start out on a cheap second hand 125, fall over a couple of times, thrash it and then when you decide this is really what you want buy a bigger bike (depending on where you'll be riding ie. no highways).

Well with my riding position and laptop in nag on back, it gets a little tiring on the shoulders after a while. I have been riding for almost a year so I don't know how to get more bike fit.

Maybe need to be less single....

Lol.

Intersting point though, the rear tyres dont seem to have the tread blocks like the front do. Is that usual?

Even as a chop it still won't be outrageous.

Pages are a social construct, but you are right on the TWI for the rear so definitely time to change.

Also explains your slide the other night somewhat.

They have their own. I thinks it's to do with how each tyre needs to handle acceleration/deceleration and traction.
 


^^^ 1000cc sportbike average consumption, for those who are curious. (I've been skipping on the logs lately but you can see by the amount of kilometres tracked, it's a fair bit)

I believe he is referring to the Tyre Wear Indicators (TWI). Sometimes also a small triangle iirc on the sidewall to indicate where they are
 
I knew about the wear indicators, I meant I didn't know about the triangles that indicate their position. But thanks for the link- handy info.
