Been fighting with myself to pull the trigger on the 2017 mt09, at that price is for me considering it, but I fear it's too much bike for me, coming from a Er6.

I went from a KTM 390 Duke to a BMW R1200GS. You'll be fine as long as you're not a plank.

Reminds me of an ad I saw on Scumtree a while back.

A guy was selling his KLR650 because it had 'too much power' for him

Then I sat and wondered how subjective 'too much' is, given that everyone here will have different definitions of what is too much, what is enough and what isn't nearly enough. That said, I have never ever heard anybody say a KLR650 (essentially a two-wheeled Vaaljaapie with half the torque) is too powerful for them :crylaugh:

hahaha, i can be a plank sometimes on rare occasions. but it only takes 1 incident.

I Think my message was ambiguous, i meant that the superduke might be too much for me, not the mt09. i think the mt09 would be perfect for me. so yes Mt07 definitely not enough power. Though i think running costs (insurance/services etc) on the Superduke would be took much for me financially.
