I think this is a great step forward.

Those free minutes are there because it costs almost nothing to neotel. It's all over ip which means 0 cost to neotel wg\hich means it doesn't increase the cost of the package.

They don't have contracts for the billionth time!!!

You can cancel your service at any time. You are liable for the cost of the hardware @R80p/m.

I'm VERY pleasantly surprised about they are offering.

Now it's just not on principal that I will change to them. But because they have great packages.

Agreed. People need to be realistic and take one step at a time.
 
Ok, prey tell then if they don't have contracts WHY their website states contract period 24 months? hmmm..

and as for being liable for the cost of the hardware at R80p/m.. what exactly do you think that is other than a contract?

its USB based. you can plug it into your usb and then its tricky to share internet with the other pc's. If you reset your pc, all the other pc's loose connectivity...

Ethernet port - would be much nicer - plug it into your router and all the pc's can share without fuss.

someone somewhere did mention you get a usb to ethernet adapter - can someone tell us more about it and will it do what i want it to do???

Do you work for Neotel?
 
No Local loop unbundleing, so everyone need to use telkom line and pay them every month no matter which ISP you use as long as you are using ADSL. So they don't need to force you to sign a 24 month contract with your telephone line.

What about Neotel? Nothing is for free, wake up people!

i think they will release better devices eventually, but like someone else said, we allready have gear, i would love to use my current router - pitty we can't use it to tap into neotel... (Netgear 834G)
 
Lets look at what I am currently paying to have a 384 ADSL line from Telkom:

Line rental: R 109
ADSL rental: R 199
Unshapped ISP @ R78.66 Incl. VAT per 500 Mb (I use average 3.5 GB): R550.62
Telkom Wireless router cost over 24 Months: R 2000 / 24: R83.33

So currently I am paying +/- on average per month: R 941.95 per month!

With Neotel I can basically have the same amount of data and only pay R 499 per month.

I do not know what is wrong with some of the negative people here but I am surely looking at this as a solution, come on Neotel Mayville isn't to far from Pretoria central!

Sure you do not get the router included, but there are ways around that too.

I mean if I enjoyed or even condoned piracy I would go for the Prime unlimited since I am spending that much already for 3.5 GB of unshaped data.
