No Data connection but full signal

Comedian or Cell C agent? Decide now. Recently I heard from you that someone else was Cell C agent.

At least you don't deny that it is a lie: "My heart goes out to all those people locked on contracts" Please confirm. :)

CANT YOU READ:
Its both, Comedian & CellC agent.
My 10 year old son, has a better understanding of english than you. Maybe from now, i should respond to you with my indian language.

Praying that CellC's network is working by this weekend. I'm planning on getting the Galaxy S4. Just hope their "upgrades" helped so I can actually use the whole 1GB of data they are giving. Amazing package, but sadly a bad network.

Their lack of feedback is really not motivating potential clients, no matter how enticing their prices seem to be.
I have a couple contracts due for upgrading on vodacom, looks like i will not be jumping ship this round :(

After many months of crappy CellC data, I bought a 8ta prepaid sim and plugged it in. My handset has 2 sim slots, so its dead easy to switch between the 2 networks. What a joy to have functional data when out of wifi range!

Not sure what the wife is going to do - her iphone doesnt have the flexibility. Its a pity that their data network is so absolutely useless here in the south peninsula, as their plans are really cost effective...
:(

Bought data bundle to see if network is working in Pretoria after their "upgrades". Things are looking good so far.

Test conducted on 4/22/2013 5:24:18 PM

Download Speed: 2090 kbps (261.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 585 kbps (73.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 283 ms

Seems to be getting better:
Test conducted on 4/22/2013 6:37:47 PM

Download Speed: 4498 kbps (562.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1350 kbps (168.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 291 ms

Will use CellC the whole day tomorrow to see if there is continuous throughput

Posting a lot tonight but I just have one question: Is everybody that is experiencing this problem relatively new to CellC?

I'm asking because everybody I know who has been on CellC's network for a few years are not experiencing this problem and they are all in the same area as me? I'm very curious about this.

No, I have been with them since the beginning of their data rollout, but have been experiencing serious problems for the last 18 months.

I have reported it numerous times, but they have done nothing about it.

I had 2 contracts with them at the beginning of this year, managed to cancel them at the beginning of this month. I am looking to buy the Galaxy S4 from CellC so I'm testing their network this week.

I saw in an article on MyBB that says the problems in Pretoria is solved and was caused due to "network upgrades". So far so good, will keep everyone posted. Hopefully the problems is solved. However, the article didn't mention anything about the rest of SA with the same problems.

Problem still exists in fairland johannesburg. Initially everything was good but the trouble began early 2013. I also got an 8ta prepaid SIM and gave up on what's left of 3Gb cellc data bundle.

In my area Phoenix Durban North, its both new customers & the long time loyal Cell C customers that are affected. February is the month all of this madness started. Really frustrating.

It's good to know it doesn't just affect the new customers. Thanks for the feedback!

I have had 2 12 month Cell C data sims for 2 years. The speed drop-off started here in February and I experienced it in Langebaan when I was down there for a week in March.....

In the last week here though, there have been more times of faster speed than slow speed - I have definitely noticed an improvement. I even hit 2mb/s on a speedtest recently which was unheard of since February.

Not out of the woods yet, but things are definitely improving for my 2 sims....

Unable to even do a speedtest this morning. In Riviera, Pretoria.

Went to Meyersdal (jhb south) today for lunch, had full 3G signal, yet I couldn't load pages, send a Whatsapp msg or check fb.

I get home, I get full 3G signal and everything works fine. Must be certain towers only.

For me it's happening less frequently. There are evenings or some days where Cell C doesn't work at all but at other times I just restart the router until it suddenly works. Don't know if it would have worked if I just kept it on for a couple of minutes but this way seems to work.

But yes, my data connection is working much better lately.

Why would cellc respond with an explanation on hellopeter and keep schtum here?

Don't know if this problem is starting again.
The last two nights me and my wife was unable to use our data.
Blackberry and Samsung.
It again works fine during the day but at night it's dead?
Anyone else??
