Okay I was about to go fckn balistic.

Received my new login details a couple of hours ago, but only got to it at about 13:00.
Changed the login details in Pfsense and did a traceroute.
The first thing I noticed is a familiar backbone! One I left to join Crystalweb!
Nothing wrong with the traceroute though.
Did a test with WinMTR as packet loss was my mine gripe. That is the point I really got agitated. Packet loss was terrible.
Did the tesmy 25MB test.. Boom! Another drastic rise in blood pressure.

By now I was thoroughly pissed off.
In my mind I have already gave notice.
I was bitterly disappointed with the backbone and results, especially after the hype of some of the feedback.

Then I decided to look at my Pfsence setup and immediately saw what the problem was.
When I changed my login detail for CW, obviously I lost connection to CW and my fail over kicked in and one of my back up accounts kicked in.
That was the account I tested with and that gave issues.

Rebooted the Pfsense pc and retested.
Not a single instance of packet loss!
Speed test great.
Ping test great
tesmy with 25MB dl = FULL LINE SPEED

At last, blood pressure back to normal, well my normal.
Haven't done any other downloads or gaming, but will test some gaming very soon.

I hope this will be par for this account from now on.

Thank you CW.

The first half of that post also had my blood pressure rising a bit.

The latter put a smile on my face though. :D

Thanks for the great feedback, Hectic.

Yes, I also found that if I don't disable "Port Scan and DoS Protection" on my router, WinMTR shows major packet loss.

This makes me very curious, only going to find out later which one it is.

Hah, as long as it's not Openwebs, I am happy :p
Edit: Yes I know Openweb has no backbone.

Just take in account that it was the wrong Backbone/account combo. It was my fail over account that kicked in. I did not recognized it as one of my backup accounts at that stage.

Did some PS4 gaming and some YouTube clips
All very good so far.

Please don't forget about me CW! Still no sign of the new login details. :crying:

I thought yours did go out. If it hasn't found its way into a spam folder, then hop on chat and ask a support agent to see if you were supposed to be issued your new details yet.

Excellent to hear, copa. Thanks.

I think Telkom may have also taken a look at my exchange issues - They called last week wanting to come take a look on the property but I told them to come over the weekend. Didn't hear from them again, but those issues do indeed seem to be better as well.

Going to try out latency now!

CW is working perfectly for me on the new network. No packet loss and everything is as fast as it should be. A pity my account expires at month end, but glad to have experienced the new network.

It comes as no surprise that this particular network works well though. ;)

Thank you CW :D
Great results so far irt speeds and international latencies. Will report if anything seems off.
Regarding the "future download speeds will probably differ" (quote not verbatim) from the email, how much of a difference do you expect the full user load to make eventually? From what it sounds like so far, you went to great lengths to ensure the experience remains a good one :) Kudos for that.

SS streaming stays in SD on new network.

Refresh a few times. Their stream is under load with big matches - definitely no issues here - streaming it off their site right now. Their new system occasionally needs a refresh and straight to full screen to get right.
