Not to mention WA have their own "special" shaping profiles![]()
They even have a "special" call center whereby you get to pay R2 per min to listen to songs.

Sad to say, but I cancelled with CW after being with them since last year June. Have a few reasons for cancelling, but on the whole service was excellent, the internet was decent and my overall experience was fairly positive...
I too am no longer a client after being with them since June last year. Coming from OpenWeb my expectations weren't very high, being a new ISP and all but after some ups and lots of downs I can safely say being with Crystal Web was possibly the best experience I've ever had. I got so used to the great support and exceptional response time I don't see myself fitting in with any other ISP for a while. Overall I left on a positive note and wish the team good luck for the future. Hope I'll be drawn back soon again as I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on this thread and the website.
I'm late into this and haven't read the whole thread but I'm confused by these two posts. Care to explain why you'd leave an ISP that was so great on all fronts?
When this is detected on the account, the backend will immediately prioritise the gaming packets to try to prevent the stream from affecting your gaming latency. So far so good. But because streaming takes high priority it can pull your full line speed, and on DSL technology this can cause latency spikes before it hits our network. Say, Netflix for example, where it may attempt to stream in HD with a solid 4Mbps connection, and ends up consuming the full bandwidth available on your line. We can try on our end to prioritise these packets dynamically which is what happens, however there's no accounting for what it does on the Telkom line itself before it reaches our network. We always recommend applying some basic QoS on your router if it supports it, to try to avoid these sorts of issues.![]()
But why would you decide to leave in the first place of everything was perfect?Joined back after realizing leaving was a mistake
Crystal Web is best ISP ZA
Thank you so much for this explanation! Who can I PM to help me configure my router? (It definitely supports QoS but it's confusing to me)

Wanted to try different things
