the black magic behind crystal web feeds my Netflix addiction well.

Yea, Was with afrihost since 2008.

Towards the end of my relationship with Afrihost - I experienced severe packet loss, High Latency and Low speeds. They blamed this on exchange congestion (40Mbps Line, syncs perfectly and on an ISAM)

Moved to Crystal Web - 0 Packet loss, latency was 9ms on my second hop and my download speeds are 34/35mbps.

I can stream pretty much anything without a hitch, my brother games' and has no problems whatsoever since we moved, and I download torrents/nntp between 12am and 6am.

It just works IMHO.
testing the free 1gb,if i do anything like gaming (baf4 or dota) the packet loss jumps to 10% then slowly goes back down ? and my TS pings keeps shooting to over 100 but in game no ping jumps though

my problem is 1gb isnt going to be enough to fully test,as it lasts only a night

Hmmm, My brother plays BF4 and CS:GO, Doesn't experience any of that. Sounds like something else is at play here.

I think your best course of action would be to get CW chat to run some diagnostics with you to see where an issue could be coming in.

You can use pathping or ping plotter to see where exactly that loss of packets is creeping in.

Someone in this very thread had similar problems and it turned out it was introduced on his router within his own local network.

Sooo, Same experience as AfriRunAround or 10000000x better?
As i said im still getting packet loss(more at 0% )just random jumps of 10% then slowly goes away ..and high ts ping.

Will have to wait for the new month to get a new 1gb to re test and get cw to help me see why its doing this..

Buuuttt dota had no stutter which meant no major packet loss ..so thats already making me smile a bit

Yea - Like I say go onto live chat and get them to run tests to see where the issue is coming in with you.

That was me, and my home network and router are fine. I'm working with support and using pingplotter to trace the cause but it seems one of the downstream hops may be the culprit. Worse in the evenings. DJbrendan is experiencing uncanny similar issues to me along the garden route ... especially on certain pathping traces (local and intl) where PL jumps to around 10% then gradually improves. Hopefully we will resolve this.

Ah!

My apologies then for incorrectly assuming it was your hardware. Are you both perhaps in the same area? Hope you do get it sorted!
