While I've got you here, I was wondering if you guys have any thoughts about starting a bank? After a day of frustratingly bad service I thought it couldn't hurt to ask!

Actually have quite a bit of research about co-operative banking and the reform of negotiable instruments and the effect of the National Credit Act and possible revival of "the cheque" lurking on my laptop among tons of other things

Of course banking is VERY capital intensive and .... and ... and ...

When did you guys move to IS? Good move btw.

Beginning of the year. We're also managing our own network on their backbone - best decision we've ever made. Would have happened far sooner had it been in our hands entirely.

Might just move over to you guys then. R4 cheaper than WA with a good news server. Should have told me sooner you moved over to IS :D

Was all over the thread when it happened. But we try not to spam people, so have kept the marketing related emails to a bare minimum.

Last night lightning wasted my modem again  Was hoping for advice on a new modem. Needs to have wifi. I have a dsl 2540U backup modem but it does not have wifi. Thinking of just getting a wifi router. Please no mikrotik routers not in the mood for that. Price is an issue at the moment. So please any advice help? (With links to products will be appricated?

Zyxel or Netgear :)

I use a Zyxel, awesome piece of hardware, has ability for static ip (L2TP without IPSec), supports ADSL and VDSL and have decent wifi coverage.

separate your modem and router, much cheaper to replace a modem once in a while as to keep replacing modem/routers

I lost 2 in as many weeks before learning the lesson

Signed up free capped account, and then a few days later signed up for business capped.

The account is set to start on the 1st of next month, will I get the account details on the 30th or after payment is made?

Once it's processed you will get your details - so once you've paid if I recall correctly from my own sign up. It will only be active from 00:00:01 on the 1st though obviously.
