No issues here in Big Bay ! ..... but then again, I have never had any issues :love:

Disclaimer: I only stream... I do not download (except for iTunes / OS Updates). :whistle:

Usually related to line issues if you get time-outs. Are your ADSL line with CW? Why not hop onto live support and have a chat with them. They will sort you out in no time!

Nope line is with Telkom. Will see if I can find anything in my PfSense reports and will take it from there. I just would Derek if CW were still tinkering with setting that impact on connections. Disconnections normally lasts about a minute or less.

From time to time, normally once every eight to nine days, my accounts looses "authentication" - the green light on the router is on, but there is no connectivity to the net or the router. Power cycling fixes the problem. Could it be a modem-router issue? Using a D-Link 2540U with latest firmware.

I've got a TP Link router, but it only handles the wireless and acts as modem of course. A PfSense pc runs the routing.
The router/modem does not lose sync. This is a daily occurrence and it happens several times a day.

Getting 4mbps on Speedtest.net. Youtube doesn't even load without refreshing. Reddit crawls.

You are not alone. I posted about this about a week ago. Still trying to ascertain where the problem is ( Telkom / ISP)
 
Have anybody ever had full line speed on nntp outside of the 12-6 window. Or is that a big no on the home capped account

May I ask what settings you run on the TP-Link to make it run as both a modem and AP?

Yes.

Though only from 17:00 onward.

Sometimes my account performance on everything is really dog slow during the day...but from 17:00 I get full speed when I need to grab something.

Also home capped.

The router is set to Bridge mode and the Wi-Fi is setup as per normal. DCHP is disabled on the router. PfSense then does the dialing, DHCP and routing in my setup.

Could never get above 2mbps speed on my 20 mbps line with NNTP on a home capped account other than during the 12-6 window.
 
Sigh, for the past week, my crystalweb premium 2GB uncapped account have also been CRAWLING, takes 2 minutes to load myboardband, can't stream music on youtube, download speed for steam and other programs doesn't go past 65kb/s (even after 00:00), only thing I can get full speed from is dota 2 or other online games. Is this really normal for a crystalweb premium uncapped account or is this how it is like once you reached a certain "data usage"?

I moved to crystalweb this month because of all the good things I heard, but now I am serious planning to moving back to my previous ISP, at least they only shapes me during the day (which I am at work anyways), but give me full speed at night and weekends when I really uses it... :(

Just tried them, he says it is not their shaping protocol but my telkom line, so I am going to ask telkom for a port reset to see if it fixes the problems.

I have to say CW's live support is pretty good, well done CW!
 
Account flying today - home capped getting a much needed bit of TLC and 'lovin.

Great to see CW.
