Could never get above 2mbps speed on my 20 mbps line with NNTP on a home capped account other than during the 12-6 window.

Thank you well that sucks I dont mind using the 12-6 window but every so often I do like to grab something during the day. So basically I have a 10mb line between 12-6. Will have to rethink my options.

I'm actually quite unhappy with my CW account at present. Up to recently (3-4 weeks ago), things seemed very good. Suddenly I very rarely get download speeds above 200kbps on my 10Mb line. Shaped it seems? When I signed up, and I quote: "Our 10Mbps Fusion account at R799 would be ideal for you. On that account we typically won't shape you whatsoever unless the network gets crazy busy. It's a new breed of account we're introducing and I reckon you'd love it." So the network is now always crazy busy?

Will drop support a ticket, although recently I've been disappointed with level of support also.

:(

Just spoke with Paul about it now, but things are really not rosy for me this weekend. Sub-360p streams on Youtube, Steam and Origin not cracking in the downloads and the only thing that actually works close to what it should be doing is Twitch. Meanwhile, testing other non-IS accounts yields predictable 4Mib performance.

Frustrating, to say the least.

Errrr

Was just checking email and I see that instead of a monthly bill, I get an email saying that i requested a cancellation?

Dafuq???? Would like an answer asap, been a very loyal supporter since the beginning, I don't plan on going anywhere yet...

I just received an email stating that my 'subscription has been cancelled as per my request'.

Erm, no.

I have not cancelled.

What gives, CW?

*edit*

I see I am not the only one - Probably an automated response glitch, I'm assuming.

Admittedly, since the IPC upgrades went through, the overall browsing / streaming / steaming experience has been on-par.

Still seeing pretty dismal speeds on torrents thought, rate limited to ~1/8th of line speed. At 08:30 on a Sunday. Father's Day. How can the network be that busy?

Yep, getting 70KB/s on 4meg line. :(

i have to say that this month had been subpar for me. Generally YouTube at 720p is frustrating. Since last night 11h00 I downloaded 2.71 Gb on Usenet. Why so poor? This is not a busy time.

It seems to be the wrong way around haha. I haven't received my cancellation confirmation and I did cancel...

I must say, this is the first time in two weeks that my YouTube has been streaming over 2000kbps. Currently going at 5500. Twitch streaming at 3500 too which for me has been unheard of on this account since I've had it (home capped). Too bad that it'll [probably] go back to poop on Monday.

i also had issues with youtube, so chatted to shaun and the problem was the video and not the stream.
the video wasnt compressed and me being on a 4mb line was to slow while the vid need almost 1mb to stream correctly (1080p).
tested with other HD vids and they all work flawlessly :)
torrents are download at full line speed
gaming is perfect
browsing is perfect
crystalweb support oerfect
everything else not so perfect
lol

Just tried them, he says it is not their shaping protocol but my telkom line, so I am going to ask telkom for a port reset to see if it fixes the problems.

I have to say CW's live support is pretty good, well done CW!

Correct. But when you have a second ISP account, test the speeds with them, and your line is maxed, it seems quite suspect.

ah i see what you mean, well pop onto live chat maybe they could give more info.
i also have a 4mb line and my torrents download between 370kB to 420kB so that prettyu close to max line speed
