Is anyone else having speed/throughput issues atm? For the last hour or so my speeds have been crazy slow...even struggling to browse this forum. :(

I had similar problems last night around the same time.

The timing and the double post show signs of massive packet loss issues, and none of that is present on the network right now.

Always best to get in touch with live support and they can help to diagnose what the problem may be.
 
Thanks Crystal Web. I reset my router and it seems to have improved for now.

Will see how it goes and pop you a PM if things go wonky again.

Rather talk to live support for support queries. Doing support by PM is incredibly inefficient, and you need to make the guys work for their salaries. :D
 
Ah. The sickly sweet aroma of incompetence in the morning. Had interaction with support and wanted the capped account. Support told me to sign up for the uncapped and to put that I wanted the capped account in the referral code field. I did that.

Got an invoice this morning for the uncapped account. And the invoice was sent to the wrong e-mail address. I have queried it with their billing team as instructed in the e-mail. Let's see if they manage to sort it out. Not a good start but going to give them the benefit of the doubt as they are busy with their launch.

Edit: All fixed. I am happy now.

There is some downtime on the radius server that authenticates news server access right now as we deploy some upgrades there. Will be back up shortly.

This doesn't affect normal ADSL services.

News server update:

The news server upgrades will take a few hours and you may not be able to authenticate. We are fully automating the news server access today.

No idea... dont think so, but got great speeds :D

You are probably syncing at 10mbps, back when Telkom upgraded 4mbps to 10mbps for free. You should consider downgrading your ADSL sync to 4mbps, that saves me R100 a month. You do get a bit of overhead from a 4mbps acount on a 10mbps line though, but not to much. I went from 485KB/s down to roughly 420 - 440KB/s when I downgraded my line. I only manage to get that speed on Internet Download Manager though with 8 threads.

EDIT:

Sorry I must also add that I got the R100 discount through Afrihost when downgrading my line sync from 10mbps to 4mbps, might not be the same with you.

Busy cancelling Openweb now, so also looking forward to the new products.

It has just become unusable during the day, since the wife works from home and does not game nor download i don't see how i can stay with them any longer.

So hoping CW is the answer!
