News server update:

The news server upgrades will take a few hours and you may not be able to authenticate. We are fully automating the news server access today.

It is back up for our testing, but it's going through some serious changes on our end end - hopefully this evening it will be up and running 100%.

It should be noted that it's only the authentication server that's down for now for maintenance.
 
Ok so if i signup for the first - how does it work.

When will i get my info and such :P
 
Maybe it's time you pulled the News service and the advertising around it until you can get it working correctly.
I've been a customer for two weeks and it has only been working for 2 days. :-(
 
Oh, and when I pay you and email the POP as requested there is no need to log a ticket unless you want to personally thank me. :)

Latest tomorrow morning. An email is going out tonight to all existing customers about some cool things BTW. :)

Maybe it's time you pulled the News service and the advertising around it until you can get it working correctly.
I've been a customer for two weeks and it has only been working for 2 days. :-(

Apologies Craig. We have no intention of pulling the news server, nor the advertising. The service is in the process of being upgraded on our side (authentication side) to prepare for our official launch, so as to ensure that there are no possible issues due to an influx in subscribers. I apologise that you haven't had the complete news server experience yet in light of this, but all will be explained in the email being sent out tonight.

Thanks Craig, for all of the advice you have been sending us. There are a few reasons why the proof of payment is sent to our support desk into the billing department, and unfortunately all tickets in a ticketing system attract a ticket number.

I'm ok with the fact that the news server is not working correctly for this month. I still have a paid service with Astraweb. Thanks for coming to the party on my billing request due to the news servers issues.
 
@CW Do Steam downloads/updates get shaped? Coz I'm getting 300k out of my 10 meg account at the moment.

Same here - have an account with Nextgen news, and another one with Tweaknews. nice to have backups :P

hope you guys get it sorted before the launch though :)
 
Any issues with Youtube? Mine buffers for a bit, plays a second or two and then displays "An error has occurred"

Nah, that's sounding like something unrelated to us. The error occurring indicates massive packet loss somewhere.

Hopefully isolated though to tonight only and has/will resolve itself.
 
In regards to the email sent out moments ago: Where will current users be allocated among the launching products? As home? Business? Or its own package? Are there any permanent shaping adjustments or just relaxing for one month?
