Is news servers working for you?

Do you use the same login details as for router?

Mine not working, invalid username or password...

Apparently the crystal web news server is down.

My news server is working fine afic determine, but speeds hover at the 140kB/s mark on a 4Mbps line.
Only fired one up to test.

The one file that was scheduled during the night, came down at an average of 145kB/s and it was a successful.

Edit:
The test file failed.
Downloaded @169kB/s average.

Seems I got billed incorrectly for the wrong account. I subbed to the capped 200gb, not uncapped - hopping back onto support again

I'm also seeing shaping on the NNTP front (whether using the crystal web newsserver or my own astraweb account). Currently only seeing 190 to 240kb/s on a 10mbps line. speed test maxes out awesomely, youtube streams beautifully.

Whats going on with NNTP? I thought all shaping was released between midnight and 6am. Plus aren't we meant to have completely unshaped connections until we hit the 200GB threshold on this account type?

Shaping NNTP on the premium/unshaped portion of the data is a dealbreaker for me - has this been resolved ?

Just spoke to support again and they are saying that they are now aware of slow speeds on NNTP and the engineers are looking at the problem. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon as this is a deal breaker for me too. I will give them benefit of the doubt though for now.

Got to say not really that impressed :(

Streaming Youtube 720 is buffering, on 4Mb??

Direct show stream buffers on 480..

SuperSport cricket streaming also not great for me.
Does not seem to be the quality I'm used to.
Very stop & start.
According to pfsense my avg bandwidth coming into the lan is about 0.23Mbps.
That is rather poor.

guys relax for the next day, i think there are testing there a new shaping policy and its buggy right now :P seems strange that they would unshape me in the day and shape me at 12pm-7am....they could be trying to implement unshaped weekends and it bugged abit :P

@about quick torrent...thats converting p2p to http and is the exact reason they shape http at all :P

everyone that posted here has contacted support right?

Also not very impressed atm. Since early this morning I've been struggling to do anything over 100kb/s on my 4Mb line.

Yip, contacted support and gave feedback, in this feedback thread.

I was about to, but then I saw quite a few people has slow SC downloads (not limited to ZA/CW). I'll retry later...

But you do raise a valid concern :)

Not if you are a responsible person like myself and use it once in a while and after 12am. :)
