Hey guys - please see this post from yesterday - we've identified the issue and have a fix for it as well. Couple niggles we're sorting out. The migration to our new realms makes this process much easier to identify and fix.

This thread moves so fast I missed that post.
50% NNTP speed is no deal breaker, as long as streaming works I'm all smiles :D

The streams MUST flow :p

If tier 1 is unshaped it must flow on all protocols.

I'm looking forward to trying CW capped offerings when VOX ends at the end of the month for me, but am watching this thread closely to see if all the teething problems are ironed out.

I don't mind paying for premium capped bandwidth, but then it must be up to me how I use it and for what, when and how.

So far, the feedback from CW support seems good and prompt, but would like to see NNTP issues fixed.

I've been experiencing some issues over the past three weeks, and I've been quite fed up with the responses, and lack of responses I've been getting from support. I was planning to throw the toys out of my cot yesterday and make a scene, but I got too busy and forgot. Today I received an email from support checking up on my issue and asking if things were better. Thank you Crystalweb for picking up the ball again.

Can anyone tell me what smtp port to use for outgoing mail?

I'm aware of this one for some customers. The fix rolls in soon for this.

There's also some incredibly exciting news coming out soon with regards to a massive upgrade (nothing to do with IPC or the like) for all streaming customers. Can't say much just yet but those of you watching Netflix on the always-perfect Crystal Web accounts are in for a lovely surprise. But the aforementioned issues have been identified and we acknowledge them - we do have the solutions for them; they won't take long to resolve; and they will result in an incredible experience for all.

thinking about this last night, is it at all possible to zero-rate streaming data?

eg - if i watch streaming the first 5 days of a month constantly, i would still prefer to have my 100GB available for some downloads later in the month?

So if I understand you correctly - you don't want the video streaming bandwidth used to count towards your tier 1 unshaped data.

I just don't see that happening.

Video streaming, worldwide, IS considered a premium priority protocol.

Heck, Netflix even pay upstream ISP providers to prioritise their streams.

I think the answer would be "no" to that.

Data is data. We don't own the streaming services so what benefit is there to any ISP to do this? We'd simply lose money on every customer.

i understand that. but considering that streaming will always run full speed on your account - even when the NNTP/torrent limit has been reached, i would have thought that on the Crystalweb side it would be beneficial for his customers to know that the monthly prioritized data is for NNTP/Torrent/HTTP only, and that his streaming done by his wife/kids wont affect that?

I just would like to say how impressed I am with you guys :D I was at my wits end with mweb & decided to take a chance on you guys - what a pleasant experience it has been so far please keep it up - I am a very happy customer & your support is fantastic as well - thank you :D

I'm not following this at all. We'd still simply lose money on every single customer we did this for. There has to be some benefit to the ISP to do this, and I don't see where this benefit lies. On the contrary, it would simply result in providing hundreds of extra gigs per month, increasing peak load capacity drastically, and increasing our costs, while reducing yours or maintaining the same price point. Doesn't make any business sense.

Didnt see this that post yesterday as well lol... Would have saved me alot of frustration..

@CrystalWeb Would this resolve my issue i was having with the NNTP as well?

That using 100GB only for downloads and the uncapped account for other things sounds like 2 separate accounts to me. CW is there a possibility you can make another uncapped package? IE one without 100GB unshaped data at a bit of a reduced price that gets shaped from the get go, but with the option of a additional 100GB, 200GB download package at a reduced price meaning the user will in effect have 2 accounts?
