Also seeing issues. Youtube buffering like crazy, and facebook taking minutes to load

My account has performed, but more often, not, and their support has been good. But I'm not prepared to pay a premium while issues get sorted out.

Back to trying to find a stable high cap product. Internet in SA really suck :(

Their support has been friendly - to consider them "good", I'd have to have some improvement in my service after interacting with them. This has not been the case.

With everyone complaining so much, I was curious to see how my account was working, and torrents seem good:

I'm having some trouble streaming Twitch though (not that I do ever really, just happened to link to a video I wanted to watch), and the vid literally would even play.

Seeing the same speed problems here... Nvidia driver download tops out at 17KB/s, Youtube buffering, on 4 meg. Not cool :(

I think there are bigger issues at play here tonight. Streaming speeds were crappy, so I wanted to swap Unotelly servers, which necessitated a router reset. Now I can't get any account to authenticate, not even the Telkom guest account.

ahem same here.. seems the problem does indeed lie with telkom... now who is going to call and explain to them they need to inform a network engineer and not just try and reset your port till you want to burn their HQ down? :P

Ugh, just went through the exercise. 27 minutes for the call to be answered; 10 minutes of confusion when nothing I said matched the script.

"What error do you get when you try to browse to a website?"
"Why would I attempt to browse to a website if no DSL account authenticates, including your own Telkom guest account?"
...

yeah that is why i don't bother.. where the hell is crystalweb support?

I see TI guys also complaining. Could it be a cable. Which cable does Cybersmart use?

From their website, all 3 - "Cybersmart buys international capacity on all 3 international cable systems (WACS, Seacom SAT-3) to minimize any risk of cable failure disrupting your service."

I know its a bit of a derail but anyone know what the AUP on Cybersmart uncapped is?

Also maybe there's a problem due to load-shedding?

To be fair this is the first time I've had such major issues with CW. No ISP has been flawless for me, ever. This isn't acceptable (getting to post this feels like a slower version of bbs) whatsoever but the real judge is how soon they resolve it, and how often it happens again.

There really isn't a perfect ISP in SA (probably because of numerous reliance issues on backends they don't control etc) but I'll give it more than a day before I raise a pitchfork. Balls to the walls pity that support picked today of all days to take off though >_>

Thx, then it shouldn't be that

Oohh blame the ISP when it might not even be them haha. Looking forward to tomorrow on this thread. :)

My WA account running at line speed on NNTP, streaming is 1080p with no buffering. ;)

But yeah, I am sure that Telkom will take the rap for this, and that a "fix" will be imminent. And not in 6 months like "the other ISPs".

I only learned recently that a combination of ISP account and exchange congestion exists. I always thought exchange congestion was just that, but seeing as i am not struggling at my end (knock on wood) I must conclude that the people having issues in their region on CW must be due to exchange congestion only between the CW account (maybe due to cybersmart in said area) and the Telkom exchange.

ok its me. i am maxing out my cw account since saturday. i am sorry. well not really.
