To be criminal and put this thread vaguely back on the rails of broadband in general (opposed to zombie blowjobs):

Currently maxing out at 30kBs downloads. Pages still timing out, browsing still horrible, youtube is a briefly working wonderland. Basically the same as Sunday, ad nauseum.

Then there is something fundamentally wrong with your connection - support are online right now and they can run through some tests to see what is going on. That is not something on the network causing the problem right now.

CW - Just to confirm, the HTTP etc fixes are still incoming right? We shouldn't test that yet?
(Also I PM'ed you TelkomZA's response in this damn packet loss saga. This finger pointing back and forth is all well and good but it leaves me sitting in the middle being quite screwed. Sigh)

Correct.

I also read their response to you and thought some points were a little odd - like your exchange reporting packet loss because you had a connection open and were transferring data at the time. The only way this is a reasonable response is if you are maxing your line at the time of the tests.

To be honest, that can happen and I've seen that. It's because the traffic is small but still flies at max speed, very briefly maxing out the line in intervals. Doesn't happen often but it does happen. What has me more worried is that 3rd hop, which they now claim is the IPC.

You have PM to help decode his PM to you.

Sorry?
EDIT: Oh, saw now.
EDIT2: Thanks mate :) that's how I interpreted it too, so for testing purposes I'm going to assume that neither the exchange nor the IPC is actually faulty. Just easier to eliminate something from the equation.

It means I think a lot of people are talking language that is a little foreign at the moment in the plethora of messages between you and Telkom that we've been decoding for you, and this one is no different, and I have replied to your PM about it to help explain what he meant.

Glad we got to the bottom of this one now. Another case of Google Drive uploading every piece of data it can at all times. :D

real world performance

CW account, and this is fast compared to some of the speed I've been getting

alternative account (which is only a 2 Mbps)

will jump onto support a bit later

// informs support some crazy man to be jumping on them

I've been meaning to ask, since I know its something that's going to be a pain in the future. How ready is CW and Cybersmart for the switch to IPv6? Most ISPs and certainly Telkom haven't been transparent about the processes required to do a complete switch and this is going to change how things like routing are done and consumers may have to change their home network around a bit.

haven't contacted support yet but something has changed, just switched back to CW after alternate account died

TweakNews.eu. They seem to get it right.

What's with the attitude? You know what they say about sarcasm, right?

BTW, any idea when I can expect a reply to my support query sent to your support and billing addresses?

Not picking a fight, but...

Could you please share your technical analysis of the failed downloads with me so that I can discuss this with the news server provider?

Where is the sarcasm in that?
