Has the problems been sorted yet? Kinda would like my 10m line to actually perform like a 10m and not be throttled to 4m.

Anyone on 2mbps? I'm thinking of going down to 2mbps for my last month here in this home, just to stream Netflix and a bit of YouTube and so. Does it perform ok?

Had an entire day of great NNTP speeds and then at around 7pm they halved and are now erratically bouncing between 150kb/s to 250kb/s :(

I was wondering if it may be to do with crossing the 100gb Tier 1 threshold, but I can't log onto the user portal to see my usage as it does not seem to want to accept my login :(

Well, below is the story of my 10mb CAPPED account, pretty much since the 4th of November... One thing I can promise you, there won't be a December... Sorry but your product is crap...

I signed up for the capped account which is supposed to be able to run up to 40mb/s. It only runs at 4mb/s. Not what I paid for and not happy about it. Will see what happens but at this rate I will cancel too.

Power cycled my router just now as speeds worsened since my last post. Now I'm getting sub 80kb/s.

So much for the issues being wrapped up by the 16th.

I'm usually a patient person with this sort of thing but after this last month of inconsistent performance and erratic speeds (in addition to months of crap with Openweb that necessitated the change to CW to begin with) I must admit my tolerance is at an all time low.

It's like this everywhere. Mweb, Afrihost, WebAfrica, Openweb etc... , all of them with complaints on MyBB or some other forum. I think the isp's are trying their hardest to make a semi decent product with what they got. Regarding IPC costs and so.

My PS4 game downloads flew at line speed a couple of hours ago, but now a 3.4GB PSN download will take 33 hours? Still within the unshaped bandwidth limit.
4Mbps line.

Edit:
Achieving full line speed now, since the scheduled downloads kicked in at 00:00.
PSN download running between 58 and 280kbps.
Not sure if it is a PSN server issue or ISP constraint.

Well hopefully we will receive some feedback today regarding the upgrades. I must be honest...I am not seeing any improvement on my side.

I can understand the difficulties in getting products standardized on a new ISP, and won't criticize products or anything. My biggest frustration is the fact that the premium news server access is so wonky that I end up downloading about 50% of the content at least twice, consuming my precious tier 1 data and free news server allocation. If it wasn't for that, I would have been quite happy.

So it's Monday and the promised deadline given of Sat/Sun has come and gone and what a surprise my account is EXACTLY the same as it has been for the whole month so far!

But does the blame belong with CW, we all know what telkom are like.

I am still awaiting the final feedback and confirmations from Telkom and upstream. I know that work was started on Friday already as planned but there were no weekend updates - we have to rely on their updates and one will go out today as soon as I know the specifics.

I say yes, but also no as the problem lies within the scenario:

You have a customer, that customer's internet is fubar. You get someone to fix it, they promises you day X. You go and tell the customer it would be fixed on X+1, but that person who was suppose to have it fixed on X ****ed up or could not make it. Now you look like your promised failed as your word was not kept.

How does all of this come together with "As I say, I do"?

The question then is:
1. Say its fixed on day X+1 hoping they will pull through.
2. Say nothing.
3. Say only its fixed after its fixed.

If you go with 2 or 3 it looks like you don't care or are keeping a very large rug somewhere....

Now what would you do?

I would try 1 rather than 2 or 3, but of course there is risk in it.

Also nothing stopped CW to say there was no updates given on Sat/Sun. Paul was very present on mybb and could have landed a small update let alone a mail or a smoke signal. So in reality there is some blame to be given.

No update wasn't and still isn't an indication that it wasn't going to be or has been completed. And yes, we do opt for better transparency and therefore do not like options 2 and 3 in those scenarios. It should be noted that even if there are delays, last week we put together a plan to mitigate this - so we do have a plan B IF Telkom have any sort of delays.

The only likely excuse I can imagine being offered for any delays on their part is that they are upgrading their access network and that process has been delayed.

But once I have some confirmations (as this is negotiated between Telkom and upstream) we will update all customers.

Exactly. Just saying its done doesn't mean its; in my reply I was just touching on a persons word.

Which is excellent. I'm sure most of us appreciate it rather than being handled like we don't know ****. Thanks.

I had to chuckle, not because you have one its just that most SPs just have one basket and one egg.

They were more like fscking it up :erm::mad:
At least I'm back from few syncs at 6-8mbs to 10mbs with option of 20mbs.

But once I have some confirmations (as this is negotiated between Telkom and upstream) we will update all customers.

We wait on you.
