What he said, and we all realize this is Africa after all...service delivery is not a priority for Hellkom and their cronies, especially now with the huge LTE push. I know I for one will stick it out a while longer :)

Exactly. Just saying its done doesn't mean its; in my reply I was just touching on a persons word.

Which is excellent. I'm sure most of us appreciate it rather than being handled like we don't know ****. Thanks.

I had to chuckle, not because you have one its just that most SPs just have one basket and one egg.

They were more like fscking it up :erm::mad:
At least I'm back from few syncs at 6-8mbs to 10mbs with option of 20mbs.

We wait on you.

Your post above says 10Mbps line?

Yes it does as I have a 10m line - I am saying that the capped account are supposed to run up to 40mb/s. I am getting 4mb/s never mind 10 that I am supposed to be getting.

My max attainable downstream used to be about 8mb, just saw it's 17 now, something changed :)

Attainable Rate (Kbps): 17324

Yeah, funnily enough I've received nothing but outstanding service from Telkom over the last 6-7 years! Maybe I've just been lucky but I would rather deal with Telkom direct than with the ISP. Cybersmart manage my ADSL lines but when I have issues I don't bother phoning them. I call Telkom direct and things get sorted!

Anyway logged a support call to get my 600gb account downgraded to 100gb so haven't given up on CW yet but honestly, very disappointing experience in my 2nd month of being a subscriber.

No change on my side.
I waited to see if the "improvements" were going to help, nope.
Hulu can't even stream on High now.

Alternate ISP does not have the same issues.
Oh well.

20mbs here. Just waiting on the line to reach CW. Fscking ah and telkom :(

Just want to find out if anyone else is experiencing the same:

Been watching my CW connection the last 2 weeks and notice that both Tapatalk and Whatsapp on my smartphone do not seem to send notification/messages when conencted via wifi to my CW account. When using 3G through Vodacom, they are received immediately.

Noticed yesterday in particular that no notifications/messages came through at all when connected to CW via wifi, even when forcing a refresh via the app - some Whatsapp messages were sent to me yesterday and I only received them this morning when I switched over from wifi to 3G connection... Tapatalk also suddenly pushed through all thread notifications when 3G was switched on.

Just interested to see if others experience similar - all other protocols, e-mail and web, etc seem to work fine though when on wifi and CW ADSL.

BTW, when I'm connected to my backup M-Web ADSL account, all works fine over the wifi, therefore I cannot see this being a wifi issue, but rather a CW issue?

I've had the problem before but when I was with AH, not with CW that I've noticed, and more with Whatsapp rather than Tapa

I wonder if this has somthing to do with the DNS server used?

Our phones work fine on Wi-Fi, connected to CW.

I use the CW newserver as a backup for my paid newserver service (EasyNews), but instead of filling in the blanks from EasyNews the CW server is simply downloading corrupted files (still) :(

So essentially I'm in the same boat as if I didn't have a backup server and I'm using large chunks of my Tier 1 data for nothing.

This month in lieu of the slow downloads we will not be moving anyone to tier 2. And we may extend that to next month as well as give capped customers a larger cap next month or let them roll some gigs over for 3 months.

Just waiting on my end for an official response from Telkom to give to you guys.

That's very generous of CW but I will still ask, when do you foresee this problem coming to an end if you are willing to extend it for that long as it helps little if the download speeds are so seriously compromised?!

I think CW have indicated that as soon as Telkom let them know what's going on they'll let us know

And I think as a paying customer I am entitled to get a better defined answer than "when it's ready" some of us might prefer not to stay with CW if the problem would persist into next month.

Certainly won't extend to next month - that much I can tell you. The specifics I have to rely on Telkom offering to us - it's not an installation that we do ourselves, nor our upstream provider. There is currently nothing more important to me than being able to provide this to you and it has been escalated high up for the specific answer.

I don't even come close to tier 2 and this account can't stream very well.
I guess I get nothing for staying with you guys other than a bad taste in my mouth and a nice bill to pay.

Months of promises have resulted in my account performing worse than before.
