Sorry but if things don't improve by the weekend I am cancelling!

Just a reminder, cancellations need to be in by the 19th so you don't get billed for next month.

Hopefully though, this is just a glitch and all will be well soon.

Is this confirmed? Could CW please confirm as I would like to make sure!

Streaming Netflix on Apple TV in 720p HD. Unotelly DNS, 4Mbps, Durban. Not a single stutter in the last 45 minutes, even though Netflix recommends at least a 5Mbps connection for HD streams. I'm very pleased.

PS: Posted via Tapatalk, which scaled the screenshots. It looks great from where I'm sitting, though.

There were the beginnings of some routing changes this evening.

FYI, cancellations as per the terms and conditions need to be submitted before the 19th of every month.

If I cancel on the 19th, can I resubscribe on the 1st? :D
Hoping all the fixes are in by the end of the month and I'll want to continue with CW

Is it before the 19th, or is 19th the last day? Also with EFT being the payment method, why would this date even matter?

Yes i would like some clarification too please as this does seem rather odd!

My thoughts exactly. That's the whole point of month to month is it not?...to pay for the month that I intend to use the service?

The reality is, if the overall service has not improved by 30 November I will sign up elsewhere come 1 December until such time that their network is stable and performing admirably. CW can invoice me for December if they like but I still won't pay for a service I don't plan to make use of.

HiToKiRi - they have a policy in place that you have agreed to.
I don't think there's any point in being difficult to prove a point.
Cancel today, use the account till the end of the month and then sign up for a new account.

I can stream so nicely on netflix but on Hulu-Plus it is a nightmare:( I am paying for Hulu which I can't use - any idea when this will be sorted out

Either it was Paul or DJ that explained it, but the reason for the 19th being the cancellation day is for easier admin for them, since everything's still on EFT and they had to reconcile accounts manually.

Do you guys have any capped accounts yet? Any trial accounts?

We do, but I am loathe to offer trials nor sign up new capped customers as the network right now is not performing optimally while the network changes roll in.

It is before the 19th of each month and it does matter.

This would be contrary to our terms of service agreed to and payment will be due as the account will auto-provision for the following month. But come month's end there will certainly be improvements by then, of that we have been assured, and is why I have been in meeting after meeting the last two days to resolve. There is a network update going out today about this to everyone.

We made changes to Hulu+ and it should be performing far better. It's not yet optimal in lieu of the network upgrades rolling out, but has improved over the last week. I am personally testing Hulu set to HD as standard now rather than Auto and it is working far better here. To the best of my knowledge if you are streaming with any device and not your browser, you can set the quality in the browser once by default and it should sync the quality setting across your devices.

There's more to it than just that. Capacity planning is done each month, forecast, and then paid for on our side upstream - it's a serious cash outlay. It's also a financial requirement to ensure that reconciliation of customer payments is accurately completed by month's end, so you are correct on that as well.

We do not do calendar month's notices like some other ISPs - we allow cancellations in the same month, on condition that the submission is made before the 19th. Some other ISPs can stretch that to the 24th with their resources. We unfortunately can't. Not just yet - it's something that we will evaluate in the new year.

Every single ISP I have used I've used because I was able to test it first, if not for free then for a very small once-off payment (e.g. R29). I understand not wanting to release more accounts now, that makes sense but for future there should really be some sort of way people can test the waters without forking over R200.
