Pings are perfect on ts3 but on csgo jhb servers it's high?
See, this is why I don't like separate modem and routers. Takealot delivered the DLink 2500u "Jesus modem" to me today. I have been trying to get it working with my TP Link W8980 in bridge mode for the last 2 hours. No success. No matter what I try I cannot connect to the Internet. I continuously have to keep resetting both modem and router in order to get the IP's working again.
This just doesn't work.
so you had bad experiences with your router, so you buy a standalone modem, then use the same router that was giving you issues the first time with the new modem and expect different results?

No, I had/have bad experience with both modems: TP Link W8960N and TP Link W8980. The W8980 kept losing sync. I then bought the Dlink standalone modem for syncing purposes and tried to connect the W8980 as a Router to the Dlink modem.
If you experience problems with 3 different setups the problem may be your line?
It's not my line. I simply cannot get the Dlink to work with the TP Link W8980 in bridge mode.
Internet works fine, just cannot get the Dlink and TP link to work together.
Assuming you have the Dlink setup in bridge mode correctly, how are you dialing the connection on the TP-Link?
I set up a PPPOE connection on the TP Link, entered username and password but it doesn't connect. I also then have problems going into the Dlink and TP link config pages.
DHCP disabled on Dlink and enabled on TP Link.
Log output?
What you mean?
Nothing happens when I set up the PPPOE connection.
I'm not very good at networking etc.
I haven't done this myself, but I was wondering if there could be a problem with the IP addresses or ranges?I set up a PPPOE connection on the TP Link, entered username and password but it doesn't connect. I also then have problems going into the Dlink and TP link config pages.
DHCP disabled on Dlink and enabled on TP Link.
Go look around on the routers web gui for something to do with logs, it will have details on what happens behind the scenes when you try to connect.
btw.. you made sure your dlink actually syncs right?
Yup, Dlink syncs fine. I think it has something to do with my IP Addresses and subnets.
Dlink: 192.168.1.1
TP Link: 192.168.1.2
Subnet for both: 255.255.255.0
...
have the dlink on 192.168.0.1/24
and the tplink on 192.168.1.1/24
What do you mean /24?
