No, I had/have bad experience with both modems: TP Link W8960N and TP Link W8980. The W8980 kept losing sync. I then bought the Dlink standalone modem for syncing purposes and tried to connect the W8980 as a Router to the Dlink modem.

Have you got the modem functioning properly first? Always start with the modem and work backwards

I changed the IP of the Dlink modem but it no longer allows me to access the Dlink UI

Let's get the Internet sorted first. Once you have the modem setup you don;t need to access the modem anyway.

Does the Internet work now?

Nope. Still no internet. Router is not getting an IP. PPPOE is disconnected and won't allow me to connect.

Quick question for CW.

When you were offering promo capped prices to existing customers, I remember it being around R2 a gig (I stand under correction).

You've now released pricing on your site for R1.70, so what gives?

In addition, will you only offer tier 1 capped data?

I am currently paying R549 for 200gb capped account. But on the site it lists 200gb for R 340? What is going on?

Important product terms: All Crystal Web promotional capped data packages are available at R1.70 per gig for a fixed term of 3 months, or month-to-month at R1.90 per gig. All topups are charged at just R2 per gig. All accounts are provisioned by default at the lowest price of R1.70 per gig for the 3 month fixed term for January signups, or until 31 March 2015 depending on the date of first activation. You can contact Crystal Web before the 19th of your first month of service to amend this to a month-to-month service at R1.90 per gig. Crystal Web reserves the right to invoice any difference for previous month's shortfall should you have already made payment at the reduced rate per gig and change to month-to-month. Topups and cap sizes are available in 100GB increments only.

This offer is available for a limited time until 31 March 2015, at which point Crystal Web reserves the right to discontinue, amend, or extend the product offering.
Crystal Web Promotional capped data is provisioned on our highest tier 1 bandwidth, meaning that no active shaping is applied, but the service is contended, as with all ISP accounts, and therefore speeds are not guaranteed 24/7
Crystal Web promotional capped data is heavily prioritised on the network for p2p downloading, streaming, and gaming use

So played 3 games on 3 servers on WA and had exceptional performance.

Sent all the info I had to support and giving it until the 17th.

Will be doing live tests with support tomorrow, hopefully this will shed some light on this...

@slvr: I got the Dlink and TP Link working finally. Seems like I fscked it up somewhere along the way. It's all working now.

The only downside is that I now cannot access the Dlink modem if I want to look at the line stats.

No, keep it and manage it yourself. A small ISP will not have the time to manage it in the same way and with the same dedication.
Hi. Please stop trying to represent our business. You are in no way affiliated with Crystal Web...

Can't authenticate either CW account or Telkom guest account in Linden, Jhb. Obviously a Telkom issue but damn it, man, always over a bloody weekend. :(

Same in Blairgowrie. ADSL connected by no ISP will authenticate.

Hmm, speeds are really bad tonight. Particularly anything with single-thread downloads.

Same for me, Netflix still buffering like mad even though I bought a new modem to rule my modem out. Pings aren't great tonight.

Yep, I get this is a promo too. But the promo for early bird customers was at a rate of R2.70 instead of R1.70. That's crazy. Im really glad I didn't move over to capped.

I have definitely benefited positively by being an uncapped customers, but I feel sorry for capped customers.
