Yep, I get this is a promo too. But the promo for early bird customers was at a rate of R2.70 instead of R1.70. That's crazy. Im really glad I didn't move over to capped.

I have definitely benefited positively by being an uncapped customers, but I feel sorry for capped customers.
Of which there are a handful as we haven't released capped until now, but who will also benefit from the new discount...

Agreed....but they would have been paying in some cases R200 more than they are going to now....I very much doubt the cost of IPC has dropped as of late....

I'm not affected by this so I shouldn't really care...I just feel that if I were one of your early capped customers...I would be extremely disappointed...

Don't get me wrong, Im not saying it was unethical or anything....just not what I would've expected...

Not entirely sure I'm following here. We have reduced capped pricing as a promo to introduce our capped product, and unlike what other ISPs have done with promos, we're actually giving that same price to existing capped customers for the duration of the promo.

Well, quite simple really.....you advertised on the forum to say that existing customers only can receive a special reduced rate capped account a few months ago....This led to the assumption that early bird customers would pay less than new customers in the forthcoming months. It now turns out, the early bird promotional rate was actually much more than the official launch rate of capped pricing....

The point is, signing up early actually costed the customer money rather than saving the customer money....this was at a time when the company was extremely new and was suffering through multiple issues (which happens).

The new pricing is fantastic prospective clients though.

Oh. Geez, ok. Was never intended as such. Back then we reduced the pricing massively for customers, and now we're reducing it even more as a promo. Got to admit, this is the first time I've seen anyone take issue with a price reduction.

There's really no winning sometimes...:D

netflix is really choppy since 30min ago :(
not really getting above 100kB/s on netflix, but I am getting full speed on speedtest

Netflix streaming without a hitch on test lines here. On the network, it's actually nigh on impossible for Netflix to have any issues. I cannot go into the specifics, but needless to say it would take something rather catastrophic for Netflix to have issues.

I think you taking a one dimensional view.... but each to their own....Like I said...Im not a capped customer and therefore cannot really comment....perhaps my thinking is wrong..

On a separate note.. all capped data is tier 1...which effectively should be on par with business capped....which by default makes you the cheapest in business capped data, correct?

I'm unable to replicate on our test lines here at the moment. The packet loss we're seeing on our end starts and ends on the Mweb network itself once it peers off our networK:

Your guys said they will contact me and monitor my connection live when I try to play, waiting on them to get this going.

All I know is this issue has been with me since I signed up with CW last year. I reported this many times and I'm sure if you look through the tickets I sent from mid 2014 you will see it.

Basically everything works fine with Connection.co.za, WebAfrica or Axxess. As soon as I use Crystal Web's account I cannot use most Steam games and my Teamspeak ping right now is
IpoWxOL.png

This issue with Steam cannot be found in MTR, pings or tracerts. Only by being in game you will see the 10-20% loss and 150+ ping. This has been communicated to the support staff many times.

I will do whatever testing you need, just ask. As long as this gets sorted.

Here's a tracert I took right now:

Problem isn't showing right?

But when I hop into game. I can't connect and console is filled with corrupt packet issues yet I played 3 games this morning from 4am to 9am when things went south.

Appreciate the results - can you send it off to support so they can update your ticket with the details? That way we can properly work with the upstream providers to fix the issue for you. :)

I have been doing so for about 2 weeks. Today is the day I was supposed to get feedback from the upstream provider. I've sent data at different times of the day, with different results.

It should be noted that today there are network issues on the Telkom network causing authentication and speed/packet loss issues which Telkom are currently working on.

Thanks, but if you're insinuating that this has anything to do with my issue, it doesn't. This has been going on for quite a long time.

here's an image I took minutes ago in the same server I posted the tracert/mtr of:

Can anyone from CW comment on the expected line speed upgrades from Telkom for 2mbs and if the CW packages' pricing will also be adjusted?

Nothing official yet from Telkom so we can't really comment yet. There's also no reduction in data/capacity pricing to any ISP when Telkom increases DSL line speeds. But we do have a few things planned in this respect depending on how Telkom choose to implement this, but naturally this will have to wait until we have actual public confirmation from Telkom as to how this will be implemented.

Remember that when Telkom increase the speeds, not only do exchanges and backhaul need to be upgraded, but often ISP ESR equipment too, and it also increases the capacity required by an ISP, so one has to actually spend more as an ISP. But this doesn't mean that costs may not come down - it just means we need confirmation, and we cannot publicly speculate on what will take place nor leak any information (if we had it).

No no no - that was a general update for the thread which is why I didn't quote your post. :)
