It's back on now. Power cycled for 10 mins after chatting with support as well. The load shedding is mucking with everything :/
 
:D Youtube automatically starts streaming in 720p never had that before even on the old system...have to scale it back down to 480p though. Although P2P is okay-ish get about half-line speed which I'm okay with since it's full speed of my previous account :D

Same happened to me also in north riding after about 7 it just came back on so im assuming it was the load shedding
 
My experiences for the last 16 hours or so were very positive.
Mostly related to downloads and a bit of Youtube watching.

So I've just had about enough of telkom... and just about ready to jump ship. Looking at the 10mb uncapped.

People that have it happy with the service?
 
O, and come someone point me at the "shaping" discussion which has probably already happened in this thread. I'm not going to read 310 pages :(

This means that once shaping is applied, your large downloads move to after hours, keeping our network working in tip-top shape, and keeping the costs down to you.

Just want to know:
- Shaping only starts after 100GB? Is that right?
- Which services are shaped?
- Are there specific times to the shaping?
- What does shaping entail... getting 0kb/s on P2P?

All wrong
There is no uncapped allowance any more. Streaming and real-time stuff always has priority. Downloading then takes up what is left of the network, basically. So your nntp/torrent performance will depend on what the overall network usage looks like

My internet has been slow since last night. Didn't have a chance to chat to support because I was entertaining guests.
