Network Notice:

Starting tomorrow (Sunday 05 April 2015) until Thursday next week (09 April 2015) numerous Telkom exchanges will intermittently go offline for maintenance as part of Telkom's major network upgrades. The list is extensive and countrywide, and you may experience loss of DSL sync or decreased throughput for up to 5 hours during this process. Don't be alarmed. There's no need to report a fault if you experience this, unless the service is not restored 24 hours. You should be back up and running in a few hours.

Just a quick reminder for everyone. :)

Please link that list...if allowed :D

It's huge, and I'm not really at liberty to disclose it. But it is countrywide and will affect hundreds of thousands of connections over the coming days, so expect to be one of them is my advice.

Shap. Figured you'd be under an NDA. Had to ask hehe.

Thank you for the heads up though!

Edit: loving being with you guys btw. Such a pleasure being able to stream whenever AND game whenever with the best pings I've seen. Fantastic service.

Love this sort of feedback. Thank you. And happy we can keep you smiling. The more people you refer to us, the more likely you are to continue to see this sort of superlative performance. :D

do you have any info on what exactly will be upgraded

That's really for Telkom to disclose. I'd prefer that we not end up becoming their mouth-piece, and I think they'd prefer it that way too. Needless to say, this all forms part of the nationwide network upgrade. :)

Then everybody would have come down on the poor support desk like a ton of bricks.

Or Telkom's. :o :D

Luckily sense prevailed as I don't think many would have seen the funny side of ADSL being terminated countrywide and all customers being forced on to fibre or 3G contracts on pay per gig models at R19/gig.

But it would have been funny in a twisted kind of way...

Is the new site and product launch all planned around these upgrades? If so, looking forward to it :)

Seems fibre rollout is fast becoming a reality for more than just a handful of suburbs! Really exciting for consumers who have been stuck with a 2mb/4mb/10mb product!
