Internet crawling tonight for some reason. On capped account and 20Mbps line, yet struggling to watch a youtube vid on 480p without buffering. Based in CPT - Anyone else with the same issue?

Nope Flying here also in Brackenfell.

Yes, in Cape Town Brackenfell too Vredekloof side. Youtube was painful an hour ago, but working all happily now, struggled at 240p about 15 minutes ago though on a 4mb line. 480p working without buffering now though. Tried restarting router, different PCs too.

No problems here, been TUBing perfectly.

What's the ETA on the portals for Uncapped Premium subscribers being ready?

lol so crystalweb is failing just like the rest of the service providers. I dont even see the point of changing ISP's anymore they all suck.

Any issue on the network atm for anyone else? Just doing a last bit of gaming and tests on my test account before I sign up and it's all poop.

No problems at all for me last night in Big Bay..... I haven't had one hiccup from CW since I signed up and to be honest, I now longer have to reboot my modem anymore (which was a necessity with Axxess / Afrihost and VOX).

So, extremely happy with CW !!!

No it isn't? It's contention.

Read into that what you want ---- to me it says I cannot dl at my line speed - simple

Wait, there's a lot of confusion going on here.

At midnight we're hitting massive usage which spikes contentions. Usually drops down and you get line speed thereafter. We need to push some changes on our side which we're busy developing now to sort it out, as well as finalising any new pricing that may come into affect with Telkom on IPC (not guaranteed).

Currently it's only this window that's affected - our network is still running well, and we're going to trial a few changes with some customers over the coming days as well.

There is no network failure or mass complaints happening whatsoever, but there are some niggles on premium uncapped to push the midnight speeds up. That's it.

Let's not blow this out of proportion now.

We're busy pushing some changes at the moment on the load balancers which is where that latency is creeping in.

Should be sorted in the next few hours.

I think it's also high time that we separate the threads into different product ranges, but that creates its own hassles.

We're currently looking to simplify the products as well, as the sheer range in itself seems to have caused some confusion with many people, so we'll make these changes soon as well.

I always agree that keeping it simple is best.

Don't think you guys have that many products though, but I don't see the purpose of having two class of business products. You should have a single business uncapped and a single business capped imo.

Home products look right. I think you need the affordable range and then a premium range at least for uncapped.

As long as I can still get an account that says "get out of my way" at all times of the day, I'll be happy.

Agreed on most fronts. The goal with standard and premium business has (and remains) to make an affordable SME product. But it seems in general, home customers want the business products instead as most people think that business = unlimited data or massive data usage. When you mix the two together and start selling business to home customers, you can end up with bandwidth issues later down the line if those customers perceive business products to be 1TB torrent download products, for example.

We do however have a solution which is tied to some cool announcements coming from Crystal Web about new services.
