They are in Paradise Beach though. It shows they are connected to Linton Grange but don't know how everything is connected.

Paradise Beach will work back to Humansdorp, then to Uitenhage and then to Linton Grange before breaking out of Telkom's Southern Region's network to either Cape Town or Johannesburg.

Paul, as you are located in Jbay do you have any inside info on any planned ADSL upgrades in the surrounding areas?

My parents have a 2Mbit line running off the Linton Grange BB 2 exchange. Their line stats are very good but the congestion is terrible lately and getting worse by the day to the point where the line is practically useless in the evenings.

I'm paying for their connection so I'm wondering if I should rather cut my losses and move them back over to 3G.

3G in Paradise Beach? Have you tested it yet?

I'm curious, are those links back to Linton Grange fibre or what?

I'll check on the first hop (from Paradise Beach to xxx) but from Humansdorp, yes, all fibre.

Paradise Beach is serviced by the Aston Bay exchange.

Then its goes to Jeffreys Bay via a 24 fibre optic cable.

Then to Humansdorp via a 72 fibre optic cable.

so why can't they give me a 1 fibre to my house? :(
I mean the rest of the town can share 3

There's a 72F at Fountains Mall... :whistle:

Here's a basic fibre routing from Aston Bay.

Yellow = primary route
Black = secondary (redundant) route
Blue = two separate incoming routes from both Storms River and Joubertina
