One Plus 3 Announced - Flagship Killer returns

So been using this phone for the last couple of weeks and wow what a painless experience Am averaging about 4hours screen on time with the phone in stock setup. usability without a case is difficult as the phone is that slippery so definitely recommend it. Dash charging is the truth - get approx 90% charge in about 30mins...saves life. Only 1 dash charging brick at the moment and its at home but the general USB-C charging is pretty decent as well. Will look to invest in another (R900 a pop). Only minor gripe is the screen could be a bit brighter and sound a bit louder, but this is bordering on nit picking. Lovely smooth device

Im looking into buying this phone due to the dual sim nature. I want to get a data sim from AfriHost and then use my current number for voice.

Im concerned about the customer support if something breaks. Ive read OnePlus' customer service is quite crappy.

Also what is the best way to buy it?
I know Takealot has it but its like R11k and Ive read here it can be imported for around R7k?

There are other flagship dual sims available but Im not really keen. I know the Huawei's are great phones, but not too sure about long term support for updates.

I know the OnePlus always has a great developer community so I know I will get updates in the future.

I think Im just spoiled coming from a 6s which gets updates so often.

I know you're not keen on other flagships but you should seriously consider a Xiaomi Note 3. It's half the price of a One plus and packs a serious punch.

My spare phone is a Note2 and suffice to say, I won't be going back to Samsung.

Been using the phone for almost 3 weeks, gotta say loving it! I got the UK version, so I can use SA's LTE. I got the "karbon" case as the phone too slippery for my taste (pity Takeallot doesn't stock the sandstone one). I got my tempered glass screen protector today, only to be disappointed by the common "halo"/bubble problem.

Overall id give this phone a 9/10. I'm looking forward to see new features/improvements they bring out with the Android N update (hopefully still this year).

Where can I find the dash car charger and dash cables in SA. I thought I saw it on Takealot, but can't seem to find it now. Need to know whether I should buy that in the UK too.

Not sure how much you can get them in the UK but ZEEEKONLINE has then for R650 (car charger + cable)

OnePlus 3 owners shouldn't fret about software updates

Article link: http://www.androidcentral.com/oneplus-3-owners-shouldnt-fret-about-software-updates

In a statement issued to Android Authority, OnePlus confirmed that "the OnePlus 3 will continue to receive updates alongside the OnePlus 3T until the newer device reaches the end of its update life cycle." The life cycle is not clear right now, but OnePlus has committed to keeping its newer-generation phones updated for longer than its 2014 and 2015 counterparts. Indeed, the OnePlus One received Marshmallow through its now-defunct partnership with Cyanogen, while its successor, the OnePlus 2, will get Nougat at some point, but likely not much beyond it.

So that's good news for OnePlus 3 owners, at least those looking beyond the immediate release of Nougat to the next version of Android, and perhaps the one after that.
:)

Even though it was lighthearted (as denoted by a smilie that you don't appear to notice or comprehend) why don't you supply a link to prove me wrong?

Did you even try to read up a bit further online about the OnePlus range of phones before this lighthearted comment? I don't particularly enjoy being told that I am unable to comprehend something that I am actively using and researching the latest news on almost daily.

Does it matter? Are only owners allowed to comment?

Tha's not what I meant and you know it. Please share your experiences with the OnePlus phones in this thread to help others or maybe just an interesting article that you think we'll find usefull, if you can comprehend that. ;)

Now now chaps, put your onepluses down :-)

How do you guys feel about the 3T coming out so soon (relatively) after we got our 3s? I was a bit miffed tbh but i do love the phone and have no plans of changing it until prob the 1+ 6 comes out (if we ever get there)

Not too worried about firmware as coming from a Note3 I was used to flashing + using custom roms. Accessory prices (in SA) are a killer though

Please do tell, how do you actively use and research smilies almost daily?

Or did you fail in your comprehension of a post again?

If you did it would almost be accurate to describe you as a dimwit...
