Really keen to see how 4k image stabilization has improved!! REALLY KEEN!!

Awesome to see image stabilisation. So badly needed atm. The video above suggests it's pretty decent.

such a promising product this time, such a power house in a decent price, IP68 is major need, it lacks that, internal memory should be enough so micro sd card isn't something i wouldn't care about.

A lot of people don't really care about IP certification though, or at least at the cost of increased price.

I think OnePlus needs to focus on the basics. So basically exactly what they've been doing but with attention to exterior durability, list of countries supported and getting with the low bezel trend.

Image stabilisation, battery life, firmware quality, specs, camera quality etc are already being dealt with or are already outstanding.

Thanks. Looks like a big improvement.

Hey Guys, could someone please confirm the following:

1.What they paid in total using pophong on ali express
2.What the customs duty was (i read R500 - how is this possible?)
3.What happens if the phone has a problem later on?

Thanks guys

Well, it's the purchase price plus around $30 for shipping and usually around another R350-500 for custom duties. Pophong under declare the value of the shipped goods. I think they work on a value of $100.

If something breaks you got to send it back to China for repairs. The cost and inconvenience of doing that, I would imagine, is quite significant.

Think you're referring to my earlier post...as mentioned:

1. Total cost including duties etc. was just over R8000 ($483 for 64GB phone, $33 for original sandstone cover + original tempered glass protector, $29 for DHL shipping, R/$ 13.45, R/$13.80 after bank's exchange rate margin, R500 customs)
2. Seller may have under-declared the value. I didn't even look at the invoice, just paid it as I was happy with the total. No idea how it works.
3. I think within one year you can handle warranty through the seller. Shipping at own cost. Thereafter I don't know (and hope I don't need to ever find out)

Quick question - did you ask for the value to be under declared?

The new 4.5.8 firmware is awesome! Finally adds decent image stabilisation to 4K video recording and adds a font section to the settings menu. The OnePlus Slate font is fantastic - very similar to the Ubuntu font I used to install from time to time on my OnePlus One.

anyone else noticed the time is way off in apps? like now in one of my apps its displaying the time as 8:44am the phone time is correct though its set to network time

its also affecting my takealot app as i cant make any purchases - give an error to check the time isnt set in future or something

I haven't had any such issue. Try checking that your time is automated in settings, rebooting the phone and/or clearing the phone's cache.

Thank you :)

thanks ...been reading this thread and am super keen
did you guys pay using paypal or credit card?
im sure that they will deliver to work address as opposed to home?

I am thinking of the 64GB as it works out to not bad price versus what its costing on zeekonline and connected devices

can anyone advise on ordering ?

I'm having such a hassle with Aramex at the moment. Ordered a OP3T from Gearbest 3 weeks ago and have been tracking it on 17Track. Got an invoice from Aramex for customs, paid and now delivery has stalled. Been on the phone with them numerous times and everyday its a different story. Would advise to avoid using them if you're ordering from overseas.

So what are their excuses?

Yesterday the excuse was it hadn't cleared customs yet, the day before it was at the airport waiting to get on a flight. I'm getting the feeling they don't know where the package is.

Usually when I see such behaviour is when they've lost the package and are actually waiting to see if it suddenly appears somewhere along the chain. Hope you took out insurance on the shipment.

Absolutely, was only an extra $9 so well worth it. Hope they find it soon, the waiting is killing me.
